    Did somehow Gene Rodenberry and Star Trek not make this list?  If you're going to include Lucas, you MUST include his predecessor GR, and probably Asimov with his Foundation series as well.  Giants among men.

    No Frank Herbert?  Every attempt to put Dune on the screen has been awful but the novel had a huge impact when it came out.

     No Munchkin? No Rio Grande Games?

     I can appreciate the list but so much was left out of it, and games have come a long way since D&D and the Oddysey.

    Shame that Robert Jordan (and Brandon Sanderson) were not mentioned in this article.  Jordan wrote the Wheel of Time Epic Fantasy.  Brandon stepped in after Jordan's untimely death to finish up this incredibly well written epic. (1 prequel book, and 13 regular novels to date).
