Education to become dog trainer and animal behaviorist

My son is looking to start his own dog and pet care business.  I'm suspect of some of the online dog and pet training resources he has been showing me.  I'm wondering if there are any readers who have experience and recommendations for us to investigate.  He's not interested in vet school, are there courses, schools or professional certifications that would be beneficial to those who are serious about providing high quality pet training and care?  Thanks for your input.

Check out places with the Better Business Bureau   www.bbb.org  .   Maybe do some part-time or volunteer work at an animal shelter or kennel,  see how things work,  talk to people who are in the business already.

he should get in touch with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and see what sort of training and experience they recommend.
