    BOSTON (CBS)  Pit Bulls have been in the news a lot recently, as Massachusetts struggles to figure out how to protect both the animals and its citizens. City Councilor Rob Consalvo has led the charge in restricting ownership of the breed, and he is in studio to explain his position. Amy Conrad, Social Media Specialist for the Pit Bulletin Legal News Network will also be in studio to defend the animals.

    Pits are an interesting breed.  Like any dog, they are only as good as their owners. 

    Pits, as I understand it, can be sensitive.  And one that isn't confident can cause a lot of havoc.  But the biggest problem is that people are breeding them that have no business breeding dogs. 

    So I would say they need to figure out some way to curtail the breeding of pits by unqualified people.  Only then are they going to solve the problem.  And the problem, in my opinion, are too many pits. Just check your local animal shelter.
