Re puff pastry. That is what I use to make Danish with. Cut a square, any size you want. Place some jam  or applesauce in the middle. Even cream cheese. And fold over the corners like an envelope meating in the middle. Brush with an eggwash and sprinkle with coaerse grained sugar (I think it is called decoraters sugar). Then bake like you would puff pasrty. Quick and easy.
