Pingo, I felt a step was missing from that relish procedure.  You would know better because you have made stuff like this before.  But it didn't say how long to let the peppers stand in the boiling water.  Googlng relish on Cook's says to let it stand 15 minutes and then drain it.  You might want to google and check some of the relish instructions out.  Just an FYI, I would hate for you to make it and it not come out.

The last hurrah before the end of summer and school starts, I guess - someone is shooting off fireworks.

IE began giving me trouble, so went back to Chrome, and this time BDC let me login.  Hate IE, it constantly freezes and is so slow on these boards.

Remembered to cook up the spinach and had some of that plus an ear of corn with another slice of the meatloaf.  That sure has reached the spot.  Did sneak another couple tollhouse cookies too, to make sure they hadn't spoiled (!).  Guess noone else is on the boards, so will close down and see what's on TV.

ETA:  Had to change a word saying the meatloaf has "reached" the spot.  OMG, hope they get this straightened out.

Yes, we went out to dinner.  The streets are deserted - everyone seems to be away for the weekend.  Not much happening.  Not much on TV.  It's getting cooler, so sleeping should be  better.

    See you tomorrow.

Hope Kar is having a good time with rellys.  Worrying about Amber.  Rest of you have a good evening.

    Re: August 2012

    Good morning,
As you suggested, tt - I did google "pepper relish" and found there are several variations. Some let it sit in boiling water for 15 minutes, some for less and some just pour over and drain. So I don't believe it is that important. I have gotten all the ingredients together, and will be ready to start as soon as I get off the computer. Lots of chopping, but I learned from google, one can chop in a blender with water and drain. So that's what I will do. And I am only doing half the recipe. Still plenty for us.
Went out last night for a nice romantic dinner. Have any of you been to Flemmings in Boston? Pricy but very, very nice. Good place if you have something special to celebrate.
Being busy with the relish this morning, plus I am going to make my Graham Craker Cookies to take tmw. DH has already left for the office. Will meet him there, when I am done with my cooking and baking.
Have a nice day all - chat later if anyone are on here. - Pingo

    Ummm

How can you have an ETA in your above message when the edit function wasnt working yesterday?

That is a bogus ETA, trumpet

What do you have to say for yourself?

    Re: August 2012

Indeed it was working, Ache.  I said the meatloaf had "---" the spot and it made me change that word, so I went back and chose "reached".  Don't mess with me, Ache, you know you'll never win. lol

ETA:  Told me now to remove the banned word -

An ETA cant occur until a message has already been posted

Your original message was never officially posted

You may have added something to the original message after getting the dumb banned word alert, but it was not an ETA

    It was something else

Come up with a new acronym for it by tomorrow morning please

That is your assignment for this evening

Yeah, I'd never remember all the letters, or if I did, I'd get them in the wrong order and end up saying something I didn't know I was saying.  I do do that occasionally, you know.

I cant think of a good one either, so youre off the hook for now, trumpet

Dont misuse "ETA" again though please

Improper usage of an acronym is a bannable offense

    That is all

I think I really have it this time, trumpet. So one final shot at glory, okay?

    Here goes:

Yesterday My Mother Insisted I Wear Golashes?

Is that it? If so, I have three observations I'd like to make:

    1) The acronym makes no sense. It wasnt even raining yesterday, so there was no need for golashes

    2) Hello? I am an adult. I make my own footwear decisions independent of Mom

    3) I'm starting to worry about you, trumpet. Your acronym is so strange. I think youve finally gone off your nut. Seek help

Troops? I am not fighting with you, trumpet. I am trying to solve the mystery of your bizarre acronym

This is a game to me, not warfare...

Okay, one more try before I go to bed:

If that isnt it, I give up

    Good night

    ' troops'  as in . . . "a crowd of people" . . . not . . .  "unit of cavalry"

But, as long as you have given up - no need.

But since you revealed the answer already (prematurely!), I'm not even going to bother. Pfffft!

And the other acronym (IMYIYWG)? What's that?

I could see you weren't headed in the right direction, Ache.  Your wild guesses were getting further and further away from my thoughts.   Since I talk so much about the very limited gardening work I do (deadheading the butterfly bushes and watering same),  I would have thought you would have guessed the second one:

In my yard I yawn while gardening.
