Popping in to see if kar had posted. Glad to see an update from her but I'm so sorry to hear you are still searching for answers. My prayers are with you. I wish you could be seen sooner thaN Thursday. Maybe a second opinion is warranted? I'm sure you are doing everything you ca n to get to the bottom of This.

Tt- sorry about your back issues. I hope that it will improve with rest this weekend. Sounds like your Christmas gathering went great. Such a nice tradition for your extended family and sons.

DH is out tonight so I have to do bedtime for both girls on my own. the plan is to put DD2 to sleep and watch a Disney movie with DD1. Hope she stays awake!

Mornin' All...Today, we are all getting our flags in order and one group is making and tying yellow ribbons around the town...The Abington Police did a reverse 911 call...to tell the route that the vehicles will be taking...this is going to be massive. The APD also has some road closures emblazened with electric signs on rt 58.

They have video taped the transfer of Danny's body onto planes  with all the honors of a hero...We have all got to see the process....now...His body is excpected to go through Abington Tues 11-12...the powers at be are asking for folks to line the streets with flags...Honey and I have lent our electric suits to Rolling Thunder which is a motorcycle group set to escort Sgt Vasselian.

That gofundme site is up to 30,000.00

We are set to park a bunch of folks because we can

Thanks, mc.  The radiologist thinks it's an unrelated, unhelpful finding (despite it being in the area of my brain that controls balance?), but we'll see what the neurologist thinks.  You are the second friend to mention someone's having M's disease...interesting.  Thanks, again.

Kar, So sorry to hear about your health problems, surely put a damper on your holidays. Hope they find out what is the main problem and start treating you....Menairs disease can
be a terrible thing, its got something to do with the inner ear.....really make a person feel yucky....hope you start the New Year feeling lots better.  ss

Still alive...going on three debilitated weeks on the couch, upright (because lying down makes the double vision markedly worse for hours), and about to lose it.  I have the symptoms of Menairs plus double vision which is not a symptom of that.  Too much going on from various disorders that all came on suddenly, overnight, and aren't going away that docs are finding befuddling.  DH is taking good care of me, but honestly as a salesman years end is the most stressful and busy time of every year so it's extra burdensome regardless of how concerned he is; one only has so much energy and can only be one place at a time.

thanks, as always, for your continued thoughts and prayers and underdtanding of my not commenting on others goings on despite my caring and missing being able to participate as usual.

@kar,  I hesitate to say a word, but double vision can be a symptom of Meniere's disease.

Btw:  Meniere's is a close cousin to the Migraine family.

Just saying, only a dr can diagnose, anyway, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Hello everyone. We got to sleep late since DS is in NY. We woke up with no heat, the temperature was barely 50. Called into the oil company and tech is here now, some sort of part that he's fixing.

Kar, stay strong, DH is doing what needs to be done. From what we've heard of him he wouldn't take on something he couldn't do. He's taking care of you with the same love that you take care of him with.

Icer your town is really providing that young man with the hero's welcome he so deserves.

    Good morning,

Good to see a post from you, Kargiver, but wish there were more improvement in your condition.  Waiting until Thursday must be a killer for you.

Icer, that's great news about the amount of money that's been raised and the Town's plans for honoring him.  News station last night showed pics of he and his wife, a handsome couple.

Back is better since getting in and out of the car a couple of times this morning - it's all with things slipping back.

Rama, not so sure my fam looks upon my Christmas morning family gathering as a "nice tradition" - I'm sure they would rather stay home until it's time for them to head out for their inlaws for dinner - BUT, I claim my mother's rights on being surrounded by the 4 of them at least once a year - they can pick when, but it is going to happen.  On that note, did get an email from my oldest who said he did have a good time.  The 4 of them always do when they get together - don't understand why they don't more often.

Sun has come out so all thoughts of the rain coming tomorrow into Monday is gone.  Filled the feeder, got Cheerio her supply of food in, and I did get a new bird puzzle for Christmas that I can start working on tomorrow if I feel like it - so we're all set.

    Re: December 2013

Kar...Robin is correct. Double vision can be a symptom of Meniere's.  It might be worth mentioning to the Dr. although I would be surprised if he hadn't already considered it.

Also..for what it's worth..considering the amount of time you've had these symptoms, maybe you should consider going to Mass Eye & Ear in Boston for a workup. Those doctors are simply amazing and I am certain they would get to the bottom of this for you. You should not have to be suffering like this!

If there's anything encouraging perhaps it's that they seem to have ruled out more serious things like cancer and a brain tumor..it's not much but it's definitely something to hold onto.

TT...your mention of Cheerio brings to mind my night with Tinkerbelle last night. She saw(?) heard(?) something outside and was frantically going from one window to the next knocking things over in her path as she went. It was the crash in the kitchen that woke me up and she was beside herself with whatever she was seeing.  I did turn on the back light cause she kind of freaked me out a little to see what was out there. There were all kinds of tracks in the snow outside the kitchen but I can't tell what made them. Son and Hubbie are guessing rabbits. I am keeping mum on the bread crusts I've been tossing out the kitchen window for the past couple of weeks..lol

Oh, Miscricket, those mysterious tracks!  A few weeks ago, I had LARGE paw prints that I posted a pic here.  I don't think rabbits would be eating your bread crusts - they are greens eaters.  Could be a family of raccoons.  we used to have a fox whose daily route morning and night included our back walk.  Cats would run and hide under the bed - they smelled him before even seeing him.

Funny, when I went out to fill the feeder after I got back this morning,  there were a slew of different little prints out back, one set even up on my back stairs.  Almost looked like a cat print, but since I haven't seen Handsome Harry of Miss Fluffy Short Legs, I suspect it was the track of a squirrel.  Others, some birds I recognized, but not sure one set.  Was going to get the camera and take a pic, but never did.   Sparrows are enjoying little puddles the melting snow is leaving on the back walk - for drinks and bathing!

TT..I went outside after posting my last comment to check out those tracks close up. It looks like a free for all out there. There are at least 4 different kinds of tracks ( all leading to the bread..uggh). One set is definitely a bird. One looks like a cat, one I have a feeling could be a raccoon and the others I have no idea..lol  I am sure ( I hope) that they all passed by at different times..lol

It seems to be melting a little outside even though it doesn't seem warm enough and my porch thermometer is reading 29.

I watched "Shall we dance?" on Xmas day...while Honey took a nap...not his kind of movie..Glad to hear you had a good back day TT

Continued concern for you Kar..I once got very sick in between Xmas and New years...Its like no one is minding the store if you will...and forget about it if you need to be in the Er while the Patriots are playing...I am sure things will start to happen for you right after the holidays pass.

Around town has been so sad and so uplifting at times...The Police dept and Fire dept have been giving out American flags for folks to raise when our Hero comes home. There is a large group here making ribbons for the routes as well...I am involved in that....Honey will be involved with the hanging of said ribbons...I am sure.

Hi all I am back.  Kar, you are having such a terrible time and I am terribly saddened for you.

TT, I wonder if an inversion table would help you?  Do you have any stretching exercises that you could do to try to prevent flare ups?  In any case glad you are better and that your Christmas party went well.

Cricket, glad to see you back.  Rama and November, I'm sure you enjoyed Christmas - Christmas is best with children around!  Winter, hope you are getting some rest this weekend so you can feel better for the new year.

Icer sounds as if your town is coming together beautifully I am glad that you get to participate in that but how sad that it had to happen.

SS the movie sounds good.  The last movie I watched was "The Bishop's Wife" with Cary Grant and David Niven - I had never seen it all the way through! That was two weeks ago today - seems like yesterday!  Where has the time gone!

Not a bit of food left here so I'll be shopping all day...off to make lists.
