I'll be heading out later. I may pop on later, but i don't think anyone else is on at that time. Have a good night everyone.

Looks as if it's going to be a quiet day - just one short conference call and freedom for the rest of the day.  So I am making a pot roast in the crockpot with tons of potato and carrots - that way it will be tomorrow's dinner as well.  Maybe I'll do some housework.  I did so much before all the holiday parties that, without that spur, I haven't done any since!

    What plans do you have?

    Good Morning All,

Winter, sounds like you all did a great job on DS's project!

Things are pretty well here.  Tilley went after Spencer again though and hurt his ear, poor thing.  We had gone quite a long time without any issues too.  Now they are completely fine together - so strange.

Still feeling well - but still have so many Dr. appts - argh.

Going to Mom's today to bring her some medicine, so that will be nice.

    Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone. When I dropped the person off there were two in the class room. I'm sure I looked strange carrying this person out of my car and across the street.

Princess, I hope Spencer is ok.

    Good morning,

Who were the other characters that were created, do you know, Winter?

Sitting here eating my Cheerios and banana.  Frost on my car windshield, I can see it out the window.  Takes a couple of hours to heat up to these temps the forecasters are telling us.  I may run out for an hour or so, and then the floors are on my agenda for today.  Made out my shopping list for tomorrow.  Had planned to make grapenut pudding as one of the desserts for my gluten free son, but he advised me to check and see if the grapenuts had wheat flour - which they do, so cross that off the list.  Will do some scanning of Allrecipes and see what I can come up with.  He can eat the ice cream roll, but none of the other desserts, and I'm hoping the brown rice dish I'm making will appeal to him.  He says not to worry, the salad will be fine.

Princess, glad to hear you're still feeling good.  A friend and I were talking last night, comparing health notes - these bodies of ours, and the medicines they give you cure one thing but effect another.  It's a game of balancing the balls like a juggler.

I hear you TT!  I am waiting for the results of a test that will tell me if I have another autoimmune disease...and the side effects of the drugs for that are so bad that I may just refuse them.  I'd rather take my chances on a few broken bones...

    Good morning,

Ready for this cold to be gone.  But, life goes on!  And, I need to get in gear and catch up on the housework and do some cooking and possibly bake something.  Tomorrow am going East for a shared birthday lunch tradition.

prin, that stinks about all the doctor's appointments, but at least you are feeling well.  That's so odd about the dogs being good together and then out of the blue there's an incident.  Sounds like the issues are becoming less frequent, though, so that's encouraging.

hats, pot roast sounds good.  We have some nice turnips that would be good in a crock pot dish...maybe beef stew for tomorrow.  I'll be away in the afternoon so that would take the dinner pressure off.

tt, how's the roof and ceiling?  All bleached out?

pingo, your house must seem so quiet with just you and dh, again.  At least you have the birthday trip to look forward to.

    mm, feeling better?

amber, any word on the other possible job with that company?

thinking of the whole cc family despite not mentioning everyone by name.  Hoping you are all ushering in a great 2013 so far.

    ~kar

Tt, King Arthur makes a gluten free flour blend that gets good reviews.  Maybe you could experiment with one of your baked specialties using that.

WELL, just walked out into the kitchen to make my coffee, and I spied a little face under the bush - sure enough it was Harry.  Put Cheerio in the back room and tried to get him to come in, but he was too leery, just peeked in and backed down the stairs.  His right leg has been shaved, tho I didn't see any signs of a cut or bite or any sore spot.  Makes me think he does belong to someone.  He ate his breakfast and then ambled off, as usual.  Didn't look thinner or anything, so apparently he has been eating right along.  Called Cat Lady to let her know and to see if he had been up there, but it went on an answering machine.

tt, I'm nost sure of the characters. I know one girl is doing a character from a book about the Underground Railroad, but not Harriet Tubman. I wish the parents could join in on the gallery walk the kids are doing, but we aren't invited.

Kar, that's strange that you can't ETA on your iPad, I can on mine.

Shaved?  So odd!  But, at least Harry seems well and is apparently taken care of to some degree by whomever put that pink collar on presumably.  Strange.

winter, if I hit edit, the box with my entry flashes up for a second then disappears.  I wonder if it would work if I were to use a different browser.  I use Ghostery mostly.

ETA:  hey, that was it!  I can edit if I use Safari.  Thanks, Winter!!!

    Re: January 2013

Regarding "Harry", if his front leg has been shaved that would indicate he may have received IV treatment recently, which means he may have a medical condition and  therefore be on a special diet , so I would not feed him (and I'd tell cat lady the same) as you may be doing him more harm than good.

I would instead try to identify if he has an owner, your local animal control officer can assist you with this.

Then you can make a decision as to if you want to find him a home protected from the elements or not.

The areas on his body that appear "shaved" could be road rash from getting hit/scraped by a car.

PS: collars mean nothing, animals get lost/dumped all the time with their collars still left on them.

However, he might have a microchip, maybe someone is looking for him?

If only someone would take the time and effort to find out....very sad.

I've looked at photo apps and tried a yucky one and gave up.  Thanks for the recommendation!  I'll give it a try.  I would have thought the iPad itself would have had a much better photo editing capability...I was disappointed by that.

Well, I just wanted to let you all know that he has been "sighted".  Probably won't post any more about him, since it draws assumptions.

Throwing a lightweight blanket in the dryer, and then heading out for a bit.  Took the first of the new med this morning, so hope I don't get any strange reactions while I'm out!

If fatigue is a possible side effect, I worry about your driving before you know how it will affect you.  I took a med once that affected me with fatigue, and I couldn't keep my eyes open when it hit.  Be careful!

Apple isn't really known for the picture editing capability, that belongs to Adobe. It's a neat app, obviously not as good as the full blown version, but fun to play with. I just downloaded it to my phone. :)

    Re: January 2013

    Good morning,
Had a busy day yesterday. We want to change the lady, who cleans our office, so I was trying out someone at home. That may sound wonderful, but it kept me on the toes. At home I use all natural stuff for cleaning, some of which I mix myself. And I use rags - no paper towels. They all want to use those store bought spray bottles and rolls and rolls of papertowels. So that took some getting used to for her. She was very very nice, did a good job, but she was oh so slow. Just the way she was moving, made me crazy. And she spoke very little English. Couldn't explain to her, what a cobweb is f.ex. Anyway, I will be happy to give her our office to do, but for a fixed price.

tt, I am glad you found Harry. Please don't stop telling us about his antics. They are fun to read about. The shaved leg could indicate, he had some medical treatment. It does sound like he has an owner, and it would be nice if you could find him/her to learn what is going on with him.
Hope you do well with your new meds. Luckily it has become warmer, now you have your last minut errands to do for your Christmas party.

It sounds like you are doing better, Princess. Too bad with all the doc appoiintments. Especially in this bad flu season. I am due for my B12 shot, but I am planning to skip it this month, as I don't want to sit in an infested waiting room. A little tiredness it better than a full-blown flu.

Sorry to hear you are having medical problems, Hats. Hoping your tests will come back negative. Pot roast sounds great. Haven't made it in a while. Maybe this week end. Had a homey meal last night; thinking soup tonight. How is your cold doing?

Has your cough improved, Kar? If it hasn't, I hope you wll see a doctor. It has been too long.

On my way to the office. Much to do. You all have a good day.

Having a cleaning lady would be so stressful for me, too.  Good thing you tried her out, Pingo, so you wouldn't go the hourly route for the office, lol.

I'm on day 6 of my cold and so far so improving.  I think I'm in the bronchitis clear!  Now, do I dare post this?!  Could jinx myself...

ETA: Winter, very true.  I wish the iPad had made a marginal effort, but definitely Adobe rules that roost.

    Re: January 2013

Took the chair pads off and waiting to throw them in the dryer to fluff up a bit.  Figured I might as well polish the chairs while I was sitting there.  Floors still waiting.

I'm beginning to think I would love a cleaning lady to come in once a month.  Can't get at the bathtub the way I would like to scrub, for one thing, and just would like someone do a thorough cleaning for me to keep up with.  Would love to have the furniture vacuumed, never did get a floor tank vacuum.  My DIL has a cleaning lady, but as you say about the one you had, Pingo, she speaks very little English, and altho she has had her a number of years, DIL keeps a tight check on her work.  I might talk to her and see just what she does, I think she has her every 2 weeks.

Heard dryer buzzer go off, so will bring up the blanket and toss a couple of the chair pads in to fluff.  Want to have floors done by the time Y&R comes on.  It better be better than yesterday's episode.

Yes, Hats, hope your test comes back with good results.  It's a little tricky when you see more than a p.c.  I know mine when I see him the end of the month will not be happy with me being permanently removed from the fluid pill, but afterall, he did send me to the kidney specialist, and his job is to adjust my meds to keep my kidneys in good working order.  That and the IV have certainly lowered the creatin to a number I haven't seen in 2 years.  Besides, I really like him and he certainly takes time to go through any concerns I may have, even looking up latest med reports and checking them/reading them to me.

OK, down cellar and THEN - floors!  Plus, I'd better think of what I want for supper and take something out of that overflowing (with odds and ends of leftovers, mainly) freezer.
