Hope you all have a nice weekend.  I'm going out of town.  Hope the weather cooperates and my flight leaves on time.  So windy tonight but very little rain so far.  Take care.

Windy, windy, windy since yesterday afternoon.  At least this morning through my open bedroom window, it's blowing all the dust kitties out from under my bed!  Easier cleaning.

I live on a hill on a dead end street with woods surrounding me.  I have a very steep (yuck) set of stairs and a hil to climb to get to my house.  Good exercise though : ) Coming home last night, I hit the top of the stairs and there were 4 city trucks cutting up a huge tree that had fallen from the wind.  I just thank God it didn't fall when I was walking up the hill.  There is also a little boy who plays with his dog in the street since it is a dead end and I am grateful they were not out either.  I woke up to my electricity out.  I took a shower and totally forgot I couldn't use my blow dryer!  LOL! I'm sure I looked lovely on the bus and train! My daughter who drives to the train station told me a tree hit a light pole and knocked it over and there were electrical wires everywhere at the beginning of my street.  She said the city and N-Star were there, so I am praying my electricity gets on by the time I get home.  Should be an intereresting commute home with the torrential downpours and 60 mph winds they are predicting.  If my boss wasn't in Florida, this would be a good "sick" day.  Hope everyone stays safe and has a good day!

Be careful, Amber.  Seems on the news it is always the NStar customers that are without power for long periods of time.  Doesn't say much for them.  We  have National Grid - very seldom lose power, and when we do it's usually just for an  hour or so.

I'm wrestling with whether or not to drive out to Newton to see my DIL.  The only means is 128 and I have a very light (old) Nissan.  I've been driving that route before and been practically blown from lane to lane - not even wind velocity that is predicted for today.  BUT, and the big BUT, is that she is sooo good, the night before surgery she was even hopping down here on her way home to see what she could do for me with the new computer and getting my pics up and able to forward.  I know she's going bonkers being home.

Thanks tt, I am concerned about it.  Plus I don't want to lose any food.  Of course I went food shopping Wednesday..  Murphy's law...  The weather is suppose to get really bad tt.  They said mid day with torrential rain and wind.  The wind is pretty bad now.  If you do go, please be careful.

Just sitting at the kitchen table writing out some checks before going down to the bank - OMG the wind was blowing the birds off the feeder!  That has just about made up my mind about not driving 128.

DIL I talked about going out to see, was married Feb. 17th.

Have to tell you, when I first logged on this morning to Chat and saw my avatar, I saw the bird!  First time.  The orange nose of the cat was the beak, but now try as I may I can't visualize that again!  Guess I'm just a diehard cat person!

I'm glad you are not going out tt, the weather in New England can get bad really fast as you know.  Funny about your avatar as I now see the cat since you told me but I can see the bird too if I try.  I left my closet open for my cat Tigger who gets petrified in storms.  Funny how we worry about them

And how old is this son who wants to accompany his MOM on her honeymoon?  When DIL got married to my son she already had a 6 year old who couldn't understand why she couldn't go with them to Acapulco!

Mothermitzi, hope you have a safe flight to and back, my daughter and her husband left this AM on a flight, too.  Will pray for safety for all.   Winter Bridge, Congratulations, our friends got married in Feb....blizzard....they are still together and this Feb. will celebrate 50yrs....we've all been friends longer than that.  Sure is windy, it knocked my swing over during the night, but the weather is still warm, my roses are blooming again.  tt, printer up yet?  Hope DIL has a speedy recovery.   Went to Foxwoods yesterday with the Srs.  Won a $50.00 bingo game (realy $300...but there were six winnders), came home with all my money, dont know how, will stash it away till we go again next month. TAke care all, SS

Oh my God Winter, I just remembered my original wedding date was February 12 and we had a major snow storm so rescheduled for the next week, February 19th.  We were getting married by a JP and then having a small reception with family and friends at a restaurant in Boston.  Mine and his wedding bands are engraved with the date of February 12.  We left it that way as we thought it would be a cute story to tell our daughter.

    Mornin, SS,

When DIL was down Monday night we never got to the printer.  She was downloading camera disk and then showing me how to save and send pics.  forgot all about printer, tho she was willing to stay, I was pushing her out the door to get home and at least get some sleep before surgery.  Talked with her yesterday and she still plans to going back to work Monday.  Tough lady, not like her MIL!  Told G.T. I felt bad about not getting out to see her and he's going to try to run over there mid day.  --  Another good soul.

Congrats on Foxwoods.  I haven't been in probably 2 years.  Most extra I ever came home with was probably $90, and that was rare.

    Re: October 2010

    Goodmorning all,
Hopefully mm have a morning flight to where ever she is going - so she gets out before the storm. DH is now on his way to Logan with our son. His flight is at 11:30 - just before the predicted storm starts at noon. The website still says "On Time". He will probably have to go through some turbulence on the way, with the weather pattern we have right now.

Amber, sorry about your tree and you loosing your power. We went out this morning to move inside any loose items (chairs, umbrellas and such) - they can act like projectiles in heavy wind.
Hopefully you will have the power back by the time you get home. But if not, as long as you DO NOT OPEN your freezer and fridge, the food will stay well for at least 24 hours. Sounds like a good time for take out or eating out tonight.

tt, I know you love your DIL. But truly, I think she will be more pleased by you staying at home and a phone call, if the weather gets as bad as they predict. She loves you as much as you love her, you know. If you make it there safely, she will worry about you going home - unless of course you bring your toothbrush and stay over.

Hope Kar is ok. According to the news the storm has already ravaged the western part of MA.

Tomorrow we are going to visit good friends in NH for the weekend. And that is good. B/c right now it is depression time. I always feel so down, when boys leave. I think it would be a lot easier, if they lived w/i driving distance.

You all stay safe - Pingo

Did you laugh at the puns, Pingo?  That was my intent.  I know all too well what you mean about being down when the boys leave.  You're such a close knit family that the leaving is all the harder.  Hope your son has a safe flight.
