    Re: September 2011

Hi everyone! Hope you are al having a nice long weekend. I've been catching up with everyone, but haven't posted due to selling the house, staying at a hotel the past month, getting a new place in the N.E., moved our stuff out of storage yesterday. We will be checking out of the hotel tomorrow. In the meantime, had to rent a car as I was hit.(cars still not finished) Rental car got hit too.(just scrathes though. Amonth in a hotel is a little to long for me, looking forward to being with my own stuff. T.T., how awful to deal with that noise so early in the a.m.! I'll find out what school supplies D.D. needs on Thurs. when she starts Will check back later. T.T., I so hope that rash gets better!b.g

TT, your story reminded me about an experience of mine....A long time ago..when it was just my son and myself living here...We had inherited a lot of firewood that needed to be chopped...I started chopping it one August morning at 7 a.m....my neighbor called the police on me...It just so happened the officer that answered the call was a man I went to elementary school with...I call him Tattoo(cause he has a few)...He came in the back to where I was and told me what my neighbor had done...but he also told me our town allows you to start work outside at 7 a.m. but it is annoying

Nice to read about everyones comings and goings
My son and his Gf are not trying to concieve anymore...perhaps it is for the best.

i'll be checking back in on my next break

    Re: September 2011

I think our town has an ordinance against any loud machinery operating on a Sunday before a later hour than that, but of course, I had no intention of calling the police, just wish one of his men neighbors would clue him in.

Well, I almost had something to do tomorrow.  Friend called with tickets to the crafts fair at Topsfield tomorrow, but when I told her what I had, she gracefully rescinded the offer.  She lives with her little granddaughter, and I don't blame her.  Probably just as well, anyway, I think the heat seems to aggravate it more, and we'd be right out in the sun.  I'll look at it that way.

Made my lasagna for lunch and it tasted sooo good.  I had a box of mushrooms that I cooked up and layered in it too, first time, and they were delicious.  I hated to stop eating, mmmming and ahhhhing with every forkful.

Have to check online and order some new cookie cutters.  I get mine from the Little Fox Factory, have for years, and want to get a paw print, fish, flag, and a baby bootie - the latter to make for my GD's baby shower.  Checked them out the last time the little GD was here, and we mapped out what ones to order, but I realized today I never did sent the order in.  Adding a ghost and a little bear.

    Hope everyone's enjoying the day.

Bg, so glad your hotel living is coming to an end.  You're right, there's no place like home.  What is N.E.?  Good luck with your move, I take it you're moving in tomorrow?  Find time to drop us a line or two and let us know how everything is going.

tt, I think BG means North End - if I remember correctly.
Taking a break. The potatoes (rosemary/garlic/onion roasted) are in the oven right now, the racks are all prepared and ready to go, as soon as the potatoes are done and the asparagus are all lined up and brushed w/ olive oil and sprinkled w/ sesame seeds ready to go  the oven, when the racks come out to rest.
Have been as busy as ever this weekend. Love it.
Don't know when "the kids" will be back. But I have made hummus to tie them over w/ a beer or a cocktail (maybe two) until the dinner is all done. Can you feel I am excited? Having a ball - truly!
Don't know, what tmw. will be like. Of course we want to spend as much time with them as possible, but we also know, they have friends around here, that are important to them. One of them is now living in Japan, and just happened to be home this weekend. Can't deny them to spend some time w/ him.
Of course there is always something happening on the homefront as well. DH just went to HD. Our son's toilet "broke" as soon as they used it. The water will not stop running. Guess parts must have dried out as we are not using it on a daily basis. Just something to think about in the future.
How is your rash this afternoon? I just don't understand, why people are afraid to be near you. It is definitely something you have been in contact with and not contagious. I am guessing the moon flowers. Some of those most beautiful flowers are poisonous to one and all of us in one way or another.
Do try the oatmeal bath. It will soothe you. Hope tmw. is a better day for you - Pingo

No, not really.  It's much more than a rash, I just don't know what to call it.
Continue to have new breakouts.  Definitely will insist on seeing him when he's back in the office Tuesday.

Happy Labor Day everyone. Tt, Pingo's right, we are moving to the North End. I've been up since 5 packing. I so hope they figure out why that "rash" is getting worse. If it's not a contact dermatitis, there are other things it could be. Pingo, You sound so happy with your family visiting. They sound like a great crew that you raised. Back to work on packing. Comcast guy is meeting us to hook us up sometime today. God only knows when!LOL Have a great day everyone bg

    Re: September 2011

Just had a morning call from G.T.  They've had a full week-end, always making changes around the house and yard.  They've just finished redoing their l.r. with new dental tooth moulding that he says looks as tho it always should have been there.  Dared to ask about "the cats", and he says Desmond is so fat he's no problem with the gate, but she's the devil.  They've yet to see whether she leaps over or crawls through the spindles on the side.  Funny too, because when they adopted both, they were told he would probably be the trouble, they thought he had been abused.  Turns out, he's so glad to be in a loving home, he's turned into the lap cat who loves to play fetch.

You've got a comfortable day to paint, Icer.  There's a beautiful breeze coming in my windows.  Surprised, because I thought I had heard it was going to be humid right through today.  Hope you make contact with your friend who was laid off.  Good of you to hunt him down and engage him in some company.

Have a lot of ironing that needs to be done, so today's a good day for that for me to tackle.  Course that means knocking Cheerio off her board in the sun, but she'll probably settle on the cat rug on the floor and be right under foot - her favorite thing to do!  Chat later.

Hope everybody had a nice finish to the weekend.  No rain.  That was lucky.  I love balmy nights when you can have the windows open and catch a breeze.

The boys have gone back.  All in all, I think they had a nice weekend.  I know I did. Had a great dinner in the north end and dessert on Hanover Street.  Jam packed on a Saturday night and a lot of fun.  Took them on a duck tour yesterday. First time I've ever been on one. Finished off Sunday next door.  Enjoyed a perfect brisket, corn on the cob and chocolate creme pie. Dropped them at the airport early this afternoon, came home and slept for two hours.  My DIL called me and told me what a good time they had.

I have a busy week ahead so I've already had a glass of warm milk.  Need to get a good night's sleep.  I've already put a call in to my doctor about my foot.  Sleep tight everybody!

    Re: September 2011

Up at 3:30 this morning. Part of my "crew" had to catch a 6 am flight. PB son's is not until 9:30, but he went along. He has some work to do, and decided he might as well get up early and work at the airport, so we didn't have to drive back and forth. I told him, we would be more than happy to go twice, but he insisted. Me, my computer and a place to sit - that is all I need; wherever it is doesn't matter.
Don't you just love people, that are that considerate? - You will not find many.
Made a quick breakfast (quick and easy to eat, I mean) of bagels with lox and large cups of coffee. Should tie them over until they get to wherever.
We had a wonderful weekend - a weekend, we can live on for a while. They will all be back for TG.
Stayed up to track their flights with the heavy rain pouring right now. They both seem to be on time.
Now back to bed to get a few more hours of ZZZzzzs - Pingo

    Re: September 2011

    Good morning,

Nice to get up and read MM's and Pingo's postings about their memory building week-ends.

Ended up switching the A/C on last night, had thought the breeze coming in the window would keep it cool enough.  What did I ever do without one?

Did you finish your painting, Icer?  I got a lot of ironing done.  Ironing board is set up at the opposite end of the house from the neighbors.  What a couple of days going on over there.  Had to shut the window cutting off a beautiful breeze a couple of times.  The mother definitely has a problem, and the boy who is getting bigger all the time (around 8 now, I'd say), seems to be uncontrollable by them.  Climbs on top of their SUV and stomps, kicks the windows. The father can't get him down.  Two case workers still come every week, one from NH, so at least he and the mother are being monitored by someone somewhere.  I just wish they'd show up when she is in the middle of one of her episodes with him. No, that isn't all I wish, I wish they'd move somewhere else.

Bg, how did the move go?  I can imagine how glad you are to be in your own place again at last with your own things around you.

Hope you get in to see your doctor about your foot this week, MM.  Let us know how that goes.  I'm putting a call in to doctor at 8:30 and insist on being seen again today.  I know his thought is to pass me off to an allergist, but I want to be checked out again by him before I have to wait however long to see someone else.  Going on 2 weeks now.

Enjoy your day everyone.  Stay dry.

Good morning all.  Looks like everyone had a nice long weekend.  Pingo and MM I'm glad you had such nice visits.

Well, back to work for me.  It was a nice vacation, and I guess I am ready to be back . . . I guess, lol.  Lots of emails and work left for me, so I'm sure it's going to take me a while to catch up.  Guess with the weather today, there's not much else I could be doing anyway.

    Enjoy this rainy day everyone.

    Good morning!

Glad everyone had a great Labor Day weekend - can you believe it's behind us?  BG, hope your move went well and was rain-free.  tt, I'm sorry your friend reneged on fun plans over your hives.  Ignorance is sad.  Prin-cal, great news on Buster's TPLO recovery and blood work.  Pingo, great you could visit with PB son; hope you can take a nice nap today to make up for the early airport time.  mm, how did you make out with your foot?  I hope it's healing properly; I'm a bit unnerved by your doc not ordering an air cast or something.

We survived NH, but are very happy to be home.  Too bad DH had to rush off to work this morning; we're exhausted.

I've got to pick up preventative anti-mite medicine for the bees today.  Other than that, not sure.

    Have a great day, everyone,

Good morning everyone.  I did catch up on a lot yesterday, but didn't have time to post.  Pingo, seems like you had a wonderful visit with your crew.  When does your son move to England? mm, the boys seemed to have had a wonderful visit.  tt, I'm glad you have called the doctor again, I agree that you need to be seen asap. bg, hope your move went well.  We still have boxes to unpack.  PC, welcome back to work.

AFM, I put a load of wash in Sunday at around 5:30, went back upstairs and then about 15 minutes I asked DH to do something down there (basement).  He shouts up that the washer is smoking, looks like the motor went.  Smoke detector went off about 1 minute after he went down.  So disaster avoided, but we had to get a new washer.  We missed the deadline to get it delivered yesterday so now I am without until tomorrow.  I'm not a fan of the front loader ones so we got a top loader.  We have no idea how old it was (came with the house) but it did look a little older then the dryer.

Exciting week-end, Winter.  With the appliances it's always one of them needing repairs or replacement.  Good thing someone was around to catch it before worse happened.

Got a doctor's appt. this morning, so hopefully get to the bottom of this.  Checked with grandkids to make sure noone had broken out from my cookie visit last week, no.

Kargiver, you don't seem to be on our threads much anymore.  Hope nothing is wrong.

Princess, the rain probably makes it a little easier to get back into the work swing this morning.  Might as well be there as anywhere.

I'll check in later and see what's doing.  BTW, thanks to those of you who kept me company over the week-end!

tt, I got behind and haven't had a chance to catch up in good shape yet, and I don't want to just come on and post about me, me, me so I wind up getting more behind and leaving everyone wondering...but, things are OK, thanks. :)

Winter, the party was OK, but very tense, as always.  BIL is a BIG problem waiting to happen all the time.  He was pleasant enough after we got there, but the day before he was so mean and out of control my SIL said she'd "never go back."  She will, but...whatever.  So, we're all exhausted from anxiety not to mention not sleeping well.  They NEVER open the windows because they are anti-dust.  They don't run the A/C because they are anti-spending.  At least I know BIL didn't go through my things this time; I purchased luggage locks.  DH didn't use his because, and I QUOTE, "I don't want to upset my brother if he tries to get into my suitcase and finds I locked him out."  Needless to say, I don't care if I upset him by LOCKING MY SUITCASE.

    Sigh...

Good morning everyone!  Glad to hear everyone had a fun and/or productive weekend.

TT I hope the dr is able to figure out what is causing your reaction, or if you do need a specialist, that he can give you something to make you more comfortable.  It sounds like it is very annoying.

Hope you are settling in to your new place BG.  Went to the feast Sunday night (rain date, apparently) for the first time and had a blast.  I thought it would be so fun to live in the middle of it all.  Is DD back in school?  Did she have to switch to a new school?

We had a great weekend.  Had a double bday party for me and littlest niece on Saturday and were outside adventuring the whole day - swimming, riding through the woods, making smores, the whole bit!  The Wiers was very very quiet though, has been this whole summer.  It's kind of sad to see it that way, knowing how it usually is.
