Thanksgiving style food is too good just to eat once.
Lizabetti and I are practicing by cooking some of the items that we will have for the feast. Lizabetti came up with this healthy version of apple crisp.
Making this dish healthy does not detract from its flavor. Of course we eat it a'la mode, so much for being healthy.
She incorporated whole wheat flower and oatmeal for extra fiber, and it is not too high in butter. In this case the added fiber actually contributed to the flavor and added more body to the dish. Try it out in place of apple pie, you won't be disappointed.
