    I'm in so much trouble

    Here's the jist of it....

A very good friend of mine (guy) confided to one of my friends the other night that he was in love with me. I do not have feelings for this person - not in that way. I've never led him to believe that I had any feelings for him. But he is a very close, good friend. Here's where it gets real sticky - this friend is staying at my house (he's in the middle of a separation/divorce) until he gets on his feet again. I've known him for quite some time and now I'm freaking out. I hope to God I'm not the reason for his divorce. Do I kick him out? Do I confront him? My stomach is in knots.........

You should be very clear that you are not in love with him. How did he worm his way into your house to begin with? It's flattering that someone is in love with you though.

I'm not sure how long he will be staying. I haven't "the talk" yet...I just found this out. If he can't handle the fact that I am not and never will be in love with him, then he will have leave very soon. I just feel really bad for him.

Tru...nothing flattering about having someone in love when you don't feel the same way. It's gut wrenching!!

No thanks - I've had my share of "recently divorced" men. Not even if he brings peanut brittle dipped in gold.

Jess, the good part is he will be telling you all the stories about why they are split. He'll cry, you will be the consolling friend and then BOOMMM!!!, Jess' clothes are all over the place.

Absolutley no...without a doubt. I never led him on in anyway. Was just being a good friend.

if i'm correct, the reason he is staying w you is because he's going thru a seperation/divorce and needed a place to stay and a friend's help (you).

he didn't tell you, he told another person. maybe he will keep his feelings to himself and you can just forget what you heard. can you?

this is a temporary stay right?

He may have interpreted it a more than a friendship, especially since you allowed him in your home. See what happens when you are nice? Now the wife will be after you !

When you do feel like dressing up tell him you're meeting someone. That really should discourage him

I've done this, unknowingly he had a thing for me. And I really don't act any different at home than when I'm with my friends. Do you really think the toenail thing will work? What about picking my nose? Would that be helpful? Thanks for tips!!
