    Bar Mitzvah Gift?

    hi dani,

i just emailed one of my friends who has been to a bar mitzvah for gift ideas.

i'm wondering if it would be appropriate to post this on the wedding boards (as an "OT") as well, as it seems there are alot of jewish brides?

    Bar Mitzvah Gift?

Thanks so much to both of you. I will probably just do a check. However, I just wasn't sure if there were any specific customs or traditions that go into the gift giving at a Bar Mitzvah. I appreciate your responses.

    Bar Mitzvah Gift?

    I Dani
I've been told by my jewish friends that the check is always the most welcome gift. I've also been told that it's traditonal to give an amount in a multiple of 18.
So make the check out for...
    18, 36, 54, 72, 90 etc.
    Have fun!

The number 18 shares the same name as the word that spells life - chai

    chai is 18
    double chair 36

and so on and so forth

you can never go wrong with a check or bond at a bar or bat mitzvah
