In addition to protecting artifacts, ALMA also preserves other aspects of heritage. Come learn about Marash embroidery, an ancient Armenian art form also known as Armenian interlaced embroidery, in this two-day workshop taught by ALMA Textile Curator Susan Lind-Sinanian.
Susan will teach the Marash embroidery basics and show beautiful examples from ALMA's textile collection that date back to the early 19th and 20th century.
This course is suitable for mature teenagers and adults (not small children). First class will take place on Feb. 24, second class on March 10. Both will be held from 2:30pm to 4:00 p.m. in ALMA's Contemporary Art Gallery (3rd Floor).
Participation for both sessions is $20 for ALMA members, $30 for non-members.
Registration required: please call 617-926-2562 ext. 4
