    Place cards for everyone??

I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but I couldn't find an answer!

Does each guest get their own place card (to tell them where they are sitting), or can it be one per family/party?

    Thanks!!

(realized today I can actually check the forecast for our wedding day.  Eek!!)

    Re: Place cards for everyone??

We did 1 per couple/party. But we didn't assign specific seats, just tables. I believe this is the technical difference between "place cards" (1 per person) and "escort cards" (1 per family).  Or maybe it is the other way around--I forget.  Anyway, point is 1 per couple/family is fine. Most weddings I have been to have done it this way.

either way is fine. Do what you think will work best.

You'll have to make less if you do one per couple.  I made cards for the kids too separately since it was not going to be many more and I thought it would be fun for them to have their own.  If you are doing it by table then the whole family's name at a table would be fine too (and a ton less to make!)

    Re: Place cards for everyone??

I made one per person, but that's because the cards were also dinner coded for the servers (red ribbons got beef and brown ribbons got chicken). I set them on a table at the entrance of the reception so people could grab them on their way to their tables.
