    Post for Trex...

Hi Trex (It is Peonie), so you officially have two weeks left till your wedding, and this time next year I will be in your shoes. Do you have everything done? How are you feeling? How do you feel about the weather and all the humidity we have been having (although, that isn't something anyone can control!) I can't believe how fast time flies...

I know I'm not Trex, but I'm pretty angry about the heat and humidity.  Sealed

    Re: Post for Trex...

Hey Peonie!  I'm *totally* freaking out!!!  Thanks for asking. :)  We're doing okay, but we have a lot of detail things we still need to finish (writing our ceremony/vows, favors, table numbers, escort cards, etc, etc).  Work has been insane on top of all this so it has been hard for me to deal with it all.  I didn't think it would be as stressful as it is, but c'est la vie I guess.

I also had a mini crisis over the weekend.  One piece of advice: do your hair and make-up trials early.  I wanted to wait until closer to the wedding so I had my veil, etc.  Well, I did them both in the last few weeks and I *hated* them.  I sort of thought I was stuck with them (since I had contracts and didn't think I could find anyone else), but over the weekend I hit the last straw and I just decided to cancel them. I was lucky and they were understanding about it.  So in a panic I tried to find alternate vendors and luckily I was able to find both!  I'm much happier now, but bummed I wasted money on the trials (they are SO freaking expensive) and that was pretty stressful over the weekend.

I'm really hoping we get lucky like the last 2 weekends and get beautiful, comfy weather.  If it is hot and humid, that will s_ck (but only for the 30 min outside ceremony).  If it rains, I will cry a LOT.  But whatever... I'm sure I'll get over it.

Time certainly does fly!  I thought I'd have more time to get this all done, but oh well.  I can't wait till I'm off Wed and can hopefully start enjoying some of the fruits of my labor!  Oh, and family is a wicked pain in the a**.  RSVPs, also, seriously I never knew how many people don't send back their cards.

I hope it is all worth it, but I doubt it will be.  The past 2 weeks I've been wishing we just did a small, cheaper event:  30 people on the beach.  That would have been a lot better.

Now, ask me again after the wedding and we'll see if it was worth it!!  :)

    So, how's your planning going?

PS.  The one thing I have been *really* happy with is our photographer.  LOVE her!  I can't wait for the photos from the wedding.

money spent on trials isn't wasted at all. Imagine if you found out you hated the hair and makeup the day of your wedding??

it sounds like you are in good shape. I'll think good weater thoughts for you!

I'm going to a wedding this Friday and Saturday, all outside, so think good weather thoughts for my friend!

Trex... It's worth it. Every headache, every tear shed during the planning process, every PITA relative that you have to call so you can give your counts to the caterer, it's all worth it. Because in two weeks, you'll get to hold your new husband's hand (!) and look out on the dance floor and say, "Holy @#$^$@, these people are dancing at my WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!" To me, that made it all worth it.

Pink - I think Saturday is supposed to be a nice day. Good luck!

Thanks guys!  Yes, we've had GORGEOUS weather the past 2 weekends and also forecast for this weekend!   I hope it holds!!

Yes, I think the wedding day will be awesome, I just have to get there!

I got my parents RSVP back the other day (late) and I didn't think much of it, then the next day I realized it was for 2, my dad is coming!  He kept changing him mind, so I just let it go and stopped thinking about it.  He bought his airline tix yesterday.  :)  Let's hope that all goes well!

My plans are going fine....I have a lot done for being a whole year away!

I've heard from A LOT of people to do the hair trial at least 4-6 months in advance, and after reading your story, I definitely will. I am glad you got someone new! It does stink that they cost so much money, but they are so worth it. Imagine getting your hair done the day-of and hating it??

You seem to be ready to go, though! I am praying that the beautiful weather sticks for your big day! I can't WAIT for your re-caps :)

    Re: Post for Trex...

Just as a PSA for any newbies out there, the trials don't HAVE to be super expensive.  My salon charged $50 for the trial and $50 for day of.  AND since I payed for both at the trial, they only charged me $90 total.  I forget how much the make-up trial was, but nothing memorable - maybe $20.  I hated and ended up going to an Origins counter on
    the wedding day.
