My best guess at what the designer was thinking:
"Oh, this sheath dress is so chic! It's a little plain, though. Hmmm.... ooh! I'll throw a little bolero over it! How cute! Wait... it'll be too hot for a summer wedding with that long skirt and jacket. What to do, what to do..."

You girls are just too funny. Enjoyed your posts. The dress? Not so much.
On the other hand, it could be appropriate for a destination wedding at St. Martin - where they have 'top less (and more)' resorts.

Ps. Wasn't allowed to use the proper word.

    Re: I found my dress!!!!

The shame of it is (other than the models shame at having to wear it) is that the skirt is actually really quite beautiful (unless they are two love hearts dangling over her hip, that would be tacky, but otherwise, lovely).

Exotic dancers need wedding dresses too!

Is this a pnina tornai?  I didn't think there were any other designers out there as ridiculous as her.

Prill, I totally agree - the skirt is awesome (I don't mind the hearts!).  It could have been a fabulous two piece wedding dress, very modern.  It's sad the top went so wrong.

I agree, the skirt is beautiful. Maybe they didn't want to distract from it? Oaky, i can't even thinkt hat with a straight face.

Does Kleinfeld's carry Kenneth Poole?  Because I can't wait to see the SYTTD where a 300 pound bride insists on buying this dress.

I think the sheath is gorgeous. It would look stunning over a simple, plain strapless gown...one that covers the boobs.

Lucy, yes Kleinfelds carries Kenneth Pool.

Hmmm... what if she kept the jacket and just pulled the whole thing up ten inches?  I'm short enough that I might be able to pull it off... Undecided

ETA:  It occurs to me that a normal person might have a torso longer than 10 inches, so let's say 16.

The skirt is beautiful and the bolero is gorgeous. Just imagine the skirt made into a strapless dress with the bolero worn over it? - WOW!
    Going from trashy to elegant.

HAHAHA, I've been sick all week and this has made my day!

Just a question though, how come no one has considered a modesty piece?  Or would that be pointless at this stage?

    LOL
