    Invitation Rave!

If anyone is looking for a person to do their invitations, I highly recommend the person doing mine.  Her name is Celeste and her company is called Impress Me Designs.  I had a meeting with her back in November where we discussed what I thought I wanted, I gave her the details of our event, etc. and then she took all of that and created three samples.

My mom and I met with her this weekend to see the samples and then pick and choose what we wanted for the final product.  The samples blew us away!! We picked different aspects of each invitation to create a completely customized invitation set.  She will also create my menus, escort cards, etc. so that everything is cohesive.  Her work was fabulous and I cannot wait to see the finished product.

    Her website is: http://www.impressmedesigns.com/

Any comments on pricing?  Her stuff looks good, but I need it to be economical, like under $5 each.  Thanks!

I don't mean to hijack... I'm glad Celeste worked out for you, Summer!  Her work looks beautiful...

BUT, for those of you looking for invitations in the under $5 range, you might want to check out www.maplemountaindesigns.com
    and on etsy:

She did our custom programs and menu cards, and I think she does a lot of invitations in that price range.  Her work is beautiful, and she was very accommodating and easy to work with.

Thanks Jasmine!  Those look very nice and within my price range!  Unfortunately, Celeste is not, but her work looks amazing!

you should check her out trex! and don't feel limited by the selection on her website.  We showed her pictures of a few different programs we found online as our "inspirations" and she combined elements of all of them to create one that wasn't exactly like anything featured on her website at that time.  She is very detail oriented and easy to communicate with.  good luck!

Jasmine, thanks for the reccommendation that isn't as expensive.  Is she based out of Canada?  Were you able to just do all communication via email/phone?  Invitiations are the last big thing left in my planning that stresses me out.  :)

    Re: Invitation Rave!

Yeah she's based out of Canada.  That wasn't a problem.  I prefer to communicate by email, so that's what we did.  She was VERY responsive to email.  Always replied in a timely, professional, detail oriented manner.  Answered all my questions, sent samples and proofs out.  It was all very easy.  I'm sure you could talk to her on the phone too; I'm just not much of a phone talker and would much rather type out an email and have everything in writing.  Here was what the process looked like:
    1. We got a quote from her, saw it was competitive.
    2. We ordered a sample invitation from one of her existing lines so we could see an example of her finished work before moving on.  (NOTE: If you want, I could probably send you one of the programs she made for us.  We have a whole bunch of extras...)
    3. We decided to go with her, so we sent her all the information about what we were looking for, text/wording, inspiration pictures, etc.  We sent her in hard copy swatches of paper that we wanted her to color match.
    4. She helped us refined our design concept and sent us scanned pictures of samples that she worked on.
    5. We gave feedback based on the pdf sample images, and went back and forth until everything was perfect.
    6. She sent us a hard copy sample of the product.
    7. We approved it.
    8. She printed and shipped out the final order.

...that sounds complicated now that I wrote it all out, but it was really quite easy.  There were a lot of points for us to give feedback on the design.  She was really a breeze to work with, and the long-distance part wasn't issue, due to her strong communication skills.  Hope that helps!
