Where did you get your invitations?

    Hi ladies,
I am having a hard time finding invitations that I like and I am looking for more places to check out. Can you please tell me where you got yours and if you used Esty, who did you work with?

    Thanks!

Re: Where did you get your invitations?

I made my own with paper from Paper Source. However, I was very close to ordering ones from White Aisle. www.whiteaisle.com
They have a lot of pretty styles, and pricing and print options (letterpress, thermography or digital) OR you can order the paper from them and print them yourself.

Our invitations came from Papyrus (a Checkerboard pattern--loved them), but we got other paper products (programs, menus, reserved seating) from etsy (designed to coordinate with our invitations).  Our etsy vendor was MapleMountainDesigns and she was awesome.  Her shop used to be called DianeByDesign and you can see more examples of her work on the old shop.  She worked with us to customize the order so that it was exactly what we wanted.  She was very responsive, enthusiastic and patient with us.

p.s. my sister printed the bridal shower invitations through weddingpaperdivas.com and we were impressed with the quality.  So that's another option :)

Re: Where did you get your invitations?

I did the print your own route as well, I used Gartner Studios (you can buy their packaged sets at Target, Michael's, Staples etc.  And they sell them on line, I found mine in their discountinued section which is only on line.)

Sept to do the hyper link, you highlight the word or words you want to be "clickable" and then on the bottom of the box click on the chain link (next to the smiley) and it will pop up a text box and you past your URL in there and hit insert and voila it is done.

I was going to recommend ours, but when I looked them up to give you the address, I found they've closed.  Oh, well...

I can give you some advice, though.  Order the samples.  We were "sure" we'd love whatever style we saw online and then hated it when the sample arrived.

    Good luck!

We got ours from Carlson Craft.  We looked at all of them online (they had tons of invites to choose from), chose a couple samples, and picked from those.  I think their prices are reasonable, and the invitations are absolutely beautiful and great quality.

Re: Where did you get your invitations?

    Hi Sept!
I thought the whole company was great. We narrowed it down to three we liked, ordered the samples and went from there.
I was not too fussy with invitations. I wanted a nice single card invitation. I think the pocket folds and enclosures are great when I get them, but I simply wasnt interested in spending so much money on the invitations. It was not a priority to me.
That being said - I thought the quality was great and we even upgraded to the color lined envelopes and the printed return addresses on both the outer and rsvp envelope. Saved time and looked really nice.

We actually goofed on a spelling, despite 6 different people looking at it, on the envelopes (i know, my parents own street that I lived on for 22 years!!) and my mom called the company in a panic and they reprinted for free!!

I thought the weight of the paper was nice, the colors sharp and vibrant and everything was great. Super affordable too. We got 125 invites, inner and outer envelopes, RSVP cards, those envelopes, two return addresses printed and the matching cocktail napkins my mom had to have - all for $215. I also googled "invites by dawn" and got free shipping codes and signed up for email alerts and saved 20% by ordering on a sale day.

No WAY beagles, I was just admiring that one! I am looking at her site right now. Can you do all the wording yourself? I see that you put in names and dates, but I didn't go any further than that, I am not ready to order. I want to be able to do my own wording, some of the wording they have on their invites are kind of cheesy! :)

    i used www.sweetpenelope.com  and I LOVED her!

Basically she has invites that she can print up, but I got the ones that she designs, sends to me in a pdf file and I print at home.
This saved a TON of money.
She was Super helpful when it came to selecting paper or printing trouble (b/c i am printer unfriendly)  Even though she is based in san fran, she always made herself available.
She has a wide selection of designs or you can create your own for an additional cost.  I really cannot say enough about her.

Wed- can you adjust the font and colors on Dawns website? I am seeing a lot that I like, but don't like the colors and fonts that they use with the invites.
