Thread:My favorite ways to get more greens in my diet: 1) 2 Kale leaves in my morning smoothie (extra protein, please!) 2) Sautee an onion and a granny smith apple in a little olive oil for ~ 10 minutes. Add a bit of water and a bunch of kale. cover and steam lightly 3) peel and half 2 carrots. place in water with some corn. After about 10 minutes add kale. the carrots and corn add sweetness. 230 calorie meal: Lentil stew (has carrots, onion, celery as a base) over steamed kale. Dandelion greens, mustard greens, and swiss chard are all good alternatives too. I have a recipe for barley soup (that I don't make any more because barley contains gluten) that used spinach, swiss chard AND kale.

Starting date: 08/27/2011
Goal date: 10 by Thanksgiving - then just hang on through the holidays
Pounds lost this week: -.4
Total lost: 7.3
Left to go: 12.7Total lost since August 2011: 7.3Uhhhhh! Another loss but I was hoping for more this week. A little more than 2lbs to go to pass a major milestone weight for me. I hope it doesn't take me a month to get there. -

I'm giving the Banana o' Determination to luna-llena this week, even though she had another rough one with a +3.2 Why? Because she checks in every damn week and is accountable to herself for the less than optimal ones. Instead of the dreaded Treadmill, I am ordering her to get a massage, put on a hot dress and get out there and flirt with some cute boys. Today is a new start. Let's go, chickadee!

I didn't do a plus minus because my last time I had a drastic loss due to being sick, I basically gained that back all the weight I lost then. I am working back on the weight loss train since things have settled down a bit. -
