    In the United States, UPS observes the following holidays:

    Memorial Day - May 28, 2012*
    Independence Day - July 4, 2012*
    Labor Day - September 3, 2012*
    Thanksgiving Day - November 22, 2012*
    Day after Thanksgiving - November 23, 2012**
    Christmas - December 25, 2012*
    New Year's Day - January 1, 2013*

    In addition, the following holidays are recognized, but not observed:

    Martin Luther King Jr. Day (MLK) - January 16, 2012
    Chinese's New Year - January 23, 2012
    Valentine's Day - February 14, 2012
    President's Day - February 20, 2012

    Daylight Savings Time begins - March 11, 2012

    For what religion or nation or ethnic group is Daylight Savings a holiday?!?!?!?!?

    *shrugs*  I dunno.  It's on the list of U.S. Federal Holidays too...

    Lots of calendars list holidays that aren't legal holidays though.  I think I'd call it more of a "special event" than a holiday if asked but...

    Actually, they took that away from us and gave us the day after Thanksgiving instead.  Also took away Bunker Hill Day and gave us Christmas Eve instead.

    Apparently they think Black Friday and Christmas Eve are more acceptable to the general populous

    More like, days they know most would take anyway - or jockey over who gets to take.  Easier to just make them holidays and juggle vacation conflicts.

    no, theyre not actually holidays, they're floaters you can take within 90 days of the date, which is what evacuation day and bunker hill day were as well.
