Robin, your soup looks yummy! I just made the cabbage soup tonight. DH asked for it, he wanted something light.
I don't want to make this to an all out cabbage chopping competition, but I am really curious to know, what you do so differently, that you think it is a lot of work.
I had a good size head of cabbage - about 6 inches across. I used half of it. I cut the half in half and sliced it thinly with a sharp knife. It took me exactly 1 minute and 12 seconds. Yes, I used a stop watch just for fun. Starting it, when I cut the full head in half.
Anyway, which ever way you do it, it is a delicious soup and very filling. Tonight I added some chicken/garlic meat balls, I had leftover in my freezer. Delicious!
In response to Robin39's comment:
Yeah, the CC girls make light of it, but it is a bit of work, I only do it because I have the time now and
1) It's cost effective
2) I avoid chemicals and junk (although the Jewish Deli stuff is good)
3) I have to make fresh chicken broth for my old dog anyway
4) Provides a healthy intake of veggies
PS: Ache if you get sick this winter, let me know and I will make you a big pot of homemade chicken soup with plenty of noodles. I will personally deliver it to a mutually agreed upon drop off location.....of course I will wear a big brown paper bag over my head and I'll cover up my license plate so that we can protect our anonymities :) You can share with William but be careful not to give him any onion or garlic.
You're right, the most cerebral member of this group should decide where the next DWTS forum should be held...that leaves me out
You guys decide and let me know, I'll go with the flow.
