Good Graduate School Test Prep (GREs)?

I'm thinking of taking the GREs this summer and I wondered if anyone had any experience with GRE test prep courses, like Kaplan, Princeton, or any others...Do you thinktest prep courses are worth taking, is it just as good to study on your own with a study guide, etc.?

It depends on what you need. From what I've heard (full disclosure: I'm a private math tutor) the prep courses are good for "strategy" but not very good if you need to brush up on your content knowledge. Also, group sessions tend to "teach to the middle" so you won't really be getting individual attention on your focus areas.

I liked the study guides and did well studying on my own.  Get the computer software from ETS and these are actually old questions and the format is exactly the same as the GRE.  You can probably increase your math scrore much quicker than the verbal as the vocab takes a lot of time to learn.  I also like Princeton Review's last minute GRE prep.  Good luck!!!
