The article "Building a Better Cellphone" on May 13, 2008, discusses a course on building mobile applications that was held at MIT this spring. Boston University is running a similar class this summer titled "Open Source Development". This course is similar to the MIT one but from a higher perspective. It focuses on the technical, social and pragmatic aspects on building open source software by using the Google Android software stack. Students will build mobile applications and release these applications to the open source community. Classes begin May 22.
