Hard for me to defend Bush, but you must admit that 911 changed things, and that TARP, which was a liberal dream act, did him in on economic issues. Barney Frank almost single handedly killed the housing market, and GM died the death you get from decades of government dependency. So, on balance, Bush was weak and liberal in economic policy.
Obama didn't let that disaster go to waste, and has further damaged the economy, put us deep into double digit inflation ( even you don't believe the 8.1% number, do you?), brought gdp growth to a near halt, and increased the debt drag on the economy to historic, probably fatal, levels.
So, yah, you got half a point. Bush was economically a liberal failure. On your other point, that Obama is a success, well, check out commercial rents, both retail and office. There's a canary in the coal mine for yah.
