    Tried any new spa/salon treatments?

There are always new treatments cropping up at local spas and salons -- new facials, new massages, new product ingredients, etc. How do you keep track of it all? How do you decide to try a new treatment?

Also, what new treatments have you tried lately and where? Did you like them? Did they work? Why or why not?

    Tried any new spa/salon treatments?

Stuff I've Tried Recently At Exhale Spa (Over on Arlington Street):

Power Facial - Uses cold laser therapy and na enzyme peel. Really cleans out your skin in a gentle way. Plus, the treatment specialist does an arm and hand massage for you, then fits your arms into these heated gloves with some moisturizer on them. It's heavenly.

Power Body Detox - This is a treatment that works your muscles with electrodes. It feels weird and takes forever to set-up before they turn the machine on. (They have to dry-brush your skin and cleanse it. Then they cover it with gauze and this clay mask stuff.) It really worked the muscles... Not really interested in trying it again though.

Acupuncture - Very relaxing. Went twice a month for like 10 months. Really helped with back problems.

I've also tried something at Isis Spa over in Brookline Village a few times last year: colonics. I had a series of six bi-weekly colonics. It was so not what I expected. I expected it to be a bad experience, but wanted to see what all the hype was about anyway. It was very relaxing. And less invasive than an annual trip to the gynecologist. I would definitely go back for it later this year.

    Tried any new spa/salon treatments?

You know... I am so interested in laser air removal... But I have not yet researched where to get it done. I'm still a "waxing" kind of girl. Anyone else know a legitimate place to get laser hair removal?

    Tried any new spa/salon treatments?

I'm starting hair removal at sleek tomorrow. 6 sessions 4-6 weeks apart & you can shave normally between the sessions. It was a little pricey, but i got 0% interest for 1 year and i plan to have it paid off by then anyway...

I also have a friend who just started a couple weeks ago. she said it feels like a rubber band snapping. But trust me, that's much better to do 6 times rather than all that waxing!

I'll let you know how it goes!
