Can't increase pricies, houses (clients) will go to the next cleaning company with lower rates, it's the same with all of you liberals, just charge more, totally simple.  No competition right?  just like raising taxes?

Walmart has some 3 dozen stores in WA state where the min wage is the highest in the country and that state has an unemployment rate lower than the nat'l average.

How can that be if a higher min wage leads to less hiring?

Shouldn't there be higher unemployment than the nat'l average?

You have no data on what these workers in WA get paid.  You don't know if WalMart would hire more if they could  pay less. Not saying they would, you just don't know.

Plus WalMart is just one employer. ANd one that is an outlier in size and influence compared to the thousands of small businesses that provide most of the job growth.

Given other circumstance being equal, companies are going to be able to hire more peole at a lower wage than they could at a higher wage.

If you cut the minimum wage in half, some companies will hire more, some won't.  but generally, more people will be working.

if you raise the minimum wage, the opposite will be in effect: companies that can't raise prices will cut workers.  Fewer people will be working.

They at least get paid WA state min wage which is \$9.35/hr.

The empirical data suggests that WA, with it's high min wage, has a lower unemployment rate than the country as a whole.

WA has a lower UE rate than states with min wage \$2/hr lower.

Sure there may be other factors but just to say "You don't know" just shows that you're throwing crap at the wall and hoping it sticks.

You haven't even attempted to try and offer any evidence, other than your ignorance of business practices and your obviously uninformed opinion.

Can you consult some brainiac that can give us the mathematical relationship between the minimum wage and unemployment rates?

"You don't know" is pretty accurate because no one knows.  All I am saying is that at the level which business people make decisions to hire, higher wages make it less likely they will hire more people.

As a matter of fact I don't give a bleep because the only people for which minimum wage is a realistic wage is entry level workers - summer jobs, students, etc. Anyone arguing for higher minimum wages for a primary wage earner is ignoring 8 zillion mistakes someone has to make to be in that position.

Good point, but that would require user9 personal responsibility for his plight.  We all know that it is the rest of us who are holding him down.

look.  If paying \$10.10 for a no skill, no responsibility job is a good idea, why aren't companies already doing it?

like Obamacare, all the ideas the progressives have are so good that everyone needs to be forced to accept it only through the long arm of big government, ie.e mandate it.  Lacking a mandate, people, even most minimum wage people would tell the progressives to go pound sand.
