Why wait for Dems to do it? Why can't the "pro liberty" right wingers do so??

Well at least you admit the dems refuse to change Mr Clinton's law, yet claim moral superiority on the issue. Republicans tell you they oppose gay marriage. Dems tell you they are all for it, and then do nothing.
Well, except for POTUS, who came right out and said he opposes gay marriage. At least he was honest about it, albeit, wrong.

Actually some Dems do openly oppose it:

Senator Gilllibrand and Rep. Jerry Nadler are both Democrats.

In response to GreginMeffa's comment:
When democrats come up with a bill to repeal DOMA, they have standing. Until they do, they don't.
One did, but Barney Frank told him to screw and that was the end of that
But you can't ignore that the effort to support gay equity marriage rights is overwhelmingly based in liberal Democrats and the effort to oppose it is overwhelmingly based in the conservative G.O.P. But actually you will ignore it... These 75 members of the G.O.P. are getting recognition for their efforts precisely because they run counter to the official stance of their party. -

And POTUS when he came out in support of it... Honest and right. -

Well, that's why those two Democrats have that petition going.
But why question is, and perhaps I failed to make this clear, why aren't pro freedom Republican commentators such as Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and others demanding an end to this antifreedom DOMA law?We are not mind readers so at most all I'm asking people to do is to speculate.

Nadler is the guy Barney told to stick it. File a bill to repeal it. Thats how Clinton got it passed it the first place. Anything else is empty BS -

DOMA was first proposed by Republican Bob Barr. It was finally signed into law by Clinton but only after much pressure from the right wingers.

How about telling the G.O.P. to shut up in their bigotted opposition to gay equity? You criticize liberals for doing too little, yet you ignore that the majority of your crowd are actively against this human rights issue. Why don't you focus you aim at the righties on the wrong side of history? Too close to home? Better to talk about Clinton or Byrd or... anything but the Republicans, your Republicans, who support discrimination NOW. -
