Al Gore sells his TV network to Al Jezeera for $400 million

You have to love how Al Gore will stop at nothing to make money.  Good for him.  I hope he got it done under the 2012 tax rates.

Al Jazeera is  "owned by the state of Qatar through the Qatar Media Corporation and headquartered in Doha, Qatar."

Hey, just another "state run media" outlet,  kind of like MSNBC with an Arabic accent.

I heard that when Al Jezeera celebrates the death of Israelis that they never use styrofoam cups, that they dim the lights to save energy and car pool from party to party....

Funny, I anticipate that soon enough, most will think it a mirror of another network.

And it probably will take a lot of the obsession of that network off of the NBC subsidiary, soon enough.  Actually, it may have at the sale.

Mr. Gore may have set up a test of tolerance - all the way around - like no other.

Want to know what's really happening in the middle east?

BBC and Al-Jaz are pretty much the only worthy sources.

Personally, I love the idea of Al-Jaz establishing more of a reporting presence in the U.S. to show the rest of the Arab world that we're not all torture-loving warmongers.

And right under the nose of the Islamophobic cretins like Pam Geller.

Even better, it plays directly into the raving loony stereotypes on the right of both Al Gore and Al-Jazeera.  (macnh swallowed the hook.)  Brilliant...!!

I would also anticipate that the scream at the mirror network - that would be Murdoch&Ailes - will be how un-American it is to watch, listen to, cite, acknowledge the Evildoers.

You think there was a problem with a mosque near Ground Zero?!

The silence over this for these first couple of days might be likened to the silence after a toddler has smashed his finger in the door jamb.

    But before the feed...

And stand by for new limits to free speech to be proposed, however obliquely.

And for the sharia law threat to be placed firmly back in the national narrative.

Al Jazeera's faux journalists, at their "foreign bureaus" wearing trenchcoats and with a foreign accent, will no doubt really impress vacuous American liberal viewers..

Question, though, who bows deepest, literally or figuratively ?

Al Jazeera correspondents to their employer, the Quatar royal family and their leader Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani,

    or

"Bowing" Brain Williams of state-supplicant network NBC to his idol President Barack Obama?

How dumb is that statement? really, really  dumb.

Al Jaz in English is watched by few viewers in the US, even fewer numbers in the rest of the world.

Al Jaz English is just an afterthought for the pure propaganda Al Jaz Arabic network.

    Wash Post:

"Al Jaz in Arabic is pure Al-Jazeera, for all its innovation, slick graphics and flashy logos, is not an Arab version of CNN. From watching the network for any length of time, it's clear that al-Jazeera takes a consistently hostile stance toward the United States. In al-Jazeera's world, the Taliban is invariably an underdog force, the United States looms as an occupying power, and Egypt and other moderate Arab states have knuckled under to the superpower's pressure. The channel's other central topic is Israel's persecution of Palestinians, a constant litany of suffering and aggression. Otherwise there is little on al-Jazeera except sports."

"The orientation of al-Jazeera has not escaped the notice of other Arab journalists, or of the people they cover. In one of many scoops the network has landed during the war in Afghanistan, anchor Ahmed Mansour recently interviewed a Pashtun leader, Sheik Abdurrab Rasul Sayyaf, whose support will be key in any postwar Afghan government.Sayyaf took al-Jazeera to task for what he called biased coverage. "The general perception here in Afghanistan is that al-Jazeera has crossed the line in their reporting," he said on the air. "They were very protective of the Taliban. I hear your reporter . . . all the time, and he always reports what the Taliban does, but he never tries to come and see the villages and towns burned by the Taliban."

So, you won't be among those obsessing and railing ad nauseum about it here, and delivering the obsessing and railing ad nauseum from the Murdoch&Ailes and EIB network sales forces going forward?  And you won't be siding with those who support measures - private or public - to keep it from airing?

Because then that would be really, really dumb.  Right?

This, like the fiscal cliff, tells us much about how the liberals operate.  Aljezeera knows that the liberals are devoid of the ability to think for themselves, but will buy into every word uttered from a liberal news source.  Consider how the libs completely missed that social security taxes were going up.  It was becasue their liberal news source didn't tell them.

Aljazeera sees this as an easy layup to get their point of view into the liberal conciousness.  Heck,  don't take my word for it. Al Gore already stated that he and aljazeera share the same values.

That should make liberals think about who they call their learders.  but, it won't.  They will just tune into MSNBC and get their fill of what they need to think about this.
