That's cute.  He lied and people died, especially cute considering the GOP plan was nonexistent.

    Couple of facts

The plan that is being wound down was always a temp solution until ACA can be fully implemented.  People with pre existing conditions will not be turned away by insurance companies under the fully implemented law because it will be illegal to do so

The people currently on the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan will retain their current temp coverage until Jan 1 2014

The whole program is MORE about revenue for the govt than individuals having health isurance.

It always was and it will continue to be.

The scariest words a citizen can ever hear "I'm from the government and I am here to help"

doesnt matter dems and repubs are just as crooked, greedy and uncaring!

I'm pretty sure "You have cancer and cannot afford insurance" is a little scarier.

What was that you were just saying?

If, you are so partisan that all you have is general grouped negatives that you think reflect 60,000,000 people then just go away please.

I'm not partisan in this statement; ALL political parties are about power and revenue to them!

Watching you guys argue over which party is the most crooked or is the least compassionate is just too fvcking funny because they are in reality exactly the same and they hold power by keeping the public divided and scared!!

Psst.  No it wasn't.  There were TWELVE that never got out of committee.

And BTW, "yea, but they weren't really "serious" proposals, is foolish.  You said "non-existent"

12 is a tad more than that.

Semantics.  While the GOP introduced bills in committee none were advanced, which speaks to the viability of those plans and the seriousness in which they were backed.  Recall the GOP mantra was not adopt our competing vision, or take elements from our vision and use it in ACA, the mantra was "just wait" and after the bill became law "repeal and replace".  Replace with what?  No one knows.

If you have cancer, and you don't have insurance, that is scary.  If you think at the point of diagnosis you are buying insurance, you are not.  you are buying healthcare, paid for by an "insurance policy", which at this point isnot a risk/reward proposition, but simply paying the medical bills of someone who does not have insurance.

This is emblematic of the stupiditiy of the left. You haven't solved anything, you have made the problem worse by allowing people to neglect their health, then throw the expense once the are diagnosed with a serious illness onthe backs of everyone else.  That's NOT INSURANCE.

    BINGO!

Heh, heh, heh, .... ya except for that part where PRIVATE insurance companies are the main source of insuring these people.

But ya, other than that, it's all about the gov't making money.

    Freakin idiots.

Private insurance companies?  Not the point, It is not a private transaction, that's the point.

The government forces me to pay, and the private comapny is forced to take me.  That is not a private transaction.  That is, well, socialism.  The government is controlling the means and the recipient.  My say in the matter is limited to saying no, and paying a fine, which year in, year out, can be whatever the government deems appropriate.  That's extortion.

It matters not whether you send the check to the insurance company or the government.  The government is deciding what coverage you WILL buy, and how much it will cost, and where to send your check.  Doesn't sound too private to me.

The "private" comapnies are handling the money somewhat, but the government is footing the bill, or if you are so fortunate to be able to pay for your own insurance, you will be footing the bill.

So, tell me how a transaction over which neither party has control is private?

Private?  No.  Nothing private about it.

It was first proposed by Republican Teddy Roosevelt.  So yes, you are correct.

    Speaking of broken promises...

...it looks like Gov. Rick Scott down in FL has succumbed to the "evil" Obamacare by agreeing to enroll uninsured Floridians in Medicaid.

Apoplectic conservatives are now attacking him for "waving the white flag"...even one of his former HC advisors.

Cue the inevitably disjointed "RINO" smear against Scott in 3...2...1....
