I'd prefer Frank to some milqetoast seat filler.

Why not?  He will never run for the office - the first test of a good interim pol.

Plus, he'll drive the McConnells and Corkers of the upper chamber bananas.  It would be nice if he's in office when the USSC invalidates DOMA.

Former MA Governor Michael Dukakis and MA Supreme Court Justice Margaret Marshall, both of whom are up for consideration,  don't sound like seat fillers to me.   As a matter of fact, they're not loud mouths either.

Frank didn't want the interim post a few weeks ago, now he wants it and went so far as to tell Deval Patrick that he wants it?  uh, sure.   It will only be for a few months, but Frank's motives are purely self-centered, which is par for the course.

MAYBE he can ram through another Fwankie Dodd bill that will 'help' us OVER the fiscal cliff.

A non sequitur.  One has nothing to do with the other.

If you're gonna dig, then try a little deeper.

Much as I despise his politics, one must admit Barney Frank at least has a quick wit, he would be more amusing on cable than most of the ranting moonbat zombies on MSNBC like Chris Matthews....

Maybe that is why Barney wants to be a temp Senator for a few months before he goes on TV...

Re: But of course... The interim Democratic champion on a white horse is.... Bwarney Fwank.

So has Barney fallen on his own arrogance tipped pitard?

The Gov wasn't amused by Rep Frank going public with his request to be the fillin-senator.

In fact; Rep Frank seems to have been emboldened,  by his not being embraced to get the appointment, to make a number of public statements giving all the reasons it should be him.  For a guy who considers himself the smahtest guy in da room, he's looking rather pathetic in begging for the job.

The Gov's chief adviser Rubin tweeted his disdain for Frank over the weekend stating "I respect Cong. Frank and what he has accomplished, but there are better options for MA Senate interim appointment," tweeted Doug Rubin, the mastermind behind Patrick's two successful gubernatorial campaigns.

Frank has his sights set on GOP discord inorder to drive a hard bargain on the debt negotiations; not the best lead you want to make, if the goal is to have this a bipartisan solution.

How can we miss Barney when he just won't go away?

    ----------------------------

The main "option" is that only dem governors can appoint interims, and the hypocritical democrats are just fine with that.

    ...well that goes without saying.

Frank would be a terrible choice.
