    Cantor loses

Eric Cantor goes down to defeat in Republican primary. Will they get the message? Stop lying about "smaller government". Stop svcking up to corporate cronies and shiitting on American citizenship by failing to enforce immigration laws.

Cantor - defeated by a "tea Party" candidate, what will the talking heads say now after they pronounced them dead?

At least there are some people that are not comatose as the country goes down the shiiiitter.

The candidate Mr. Brat was outspent 10-1, and still won. So much for elections always being bought....Mr Brat was not supported with any money by  national Tea Party groups...this was truly a grassroots uprising...

Eric Cantor was a good man and a conservative, but he was also part of the Washington Establishment, and the Establishment was sent a message.

The Democrats will spin this as a positive for them. However, just as in 2010, when an anti-incumbent wildfire erupts,  incumbents of all parties will be taken down.

Funny thing about Washington Insiders - they know how Washington works.  unfortunately, Cantor used his knowledge to prevent things from getting done.

Cantor did lose because of how Republicans felt about him.  He lost because VA has open primaries and democrats were encouraged to vote for the Tea Party candidate in an effort to oust Cantor.

Cantor lost because he was out of touch with his district. He thought he had the race in the bag so to speak. He couldn't even be bothered to spend the entire primary day in his district..instead opting to attend a Washington fundraiser for the first part of the day.

Whatever I feel about the Brat's politics..I think it's refreshing whenever money doesn't buy a congressional seat. I wish it would happen more often. Cantor's campaign spent more on steak dinners than Brat's entire campaign budget.

You mean the deficit that just fell from over $1 trillion/yr to about $650m in one year....the sharpest reduction in the deficit for any one year since the end of WW2 ?

That is like a 400 pound man bragging that he only gained 50 pounds last year, a sharp rate reduction from the 100 pounds he gained the year before...

Obama Has Presided Over 5 of 6 Largest Deficits in U.S. History....

While White House officials claim that they has cut the deficit in half “at a record pace,” they neglect to mention this only looks like an improvement when compared to their past trillion-dollar deficits. If it weren’t for President Obama’s trillion dollar deficits in previous years, then $500 billion would have represented the highest deficit in history.

Even this “small” deficit is larger than any of the deficits posted during any year of the Bush administration – which itself wasn’t exactly known for its frugality.

Surprise, surprise....Brat is an Ayn Rand preacher.  What is it with 'conservatives' getting their economic philosophies from fiction writers?

Brat has taught classes for a program sponsored by BB&T bank that aims to spread Ayn Rand's principles to college students. Brat got a $500,000 grant from the bank to bring the program to Randolph-Macon College and co-authored a paper titled “An Analysis of the Moral Foundations in Ayn Rand.”

Should a politician follow the whims of the electorate or should they try to lead their electorate?  Should a politican simply run opinion polls on every issue before casting a vote in Congress?  or should the politicain cast their vote based on the information they are privy to, information the voters may not know or understand?  Obamacare for example - should the vote based on what Obamacare really does in it's entirety and then try to explain to their electorate (try to show leadership) why they cast their vote?  Or should they sit back and let FOX or MSNBC misinform voters and then cast what they consider to be the wrong vote?

Should they vote based on their principles or should they vote in a manner that makes it easier to get elected?

The real statists in the Democratic Party certainly didnt count Cantor as one of them. They regularly blasted him as a heartless conservative, blocking Obama's various statist schemes to further expand Government..

Cantor's loss was a deserved kick in the teeth to the out of touch Washington Establishment, which Cantor was part of.
