I watched what Bill O'Rielly had to say and to be honest, I really don't understand what any of it matters. It shouldn't be a shock to anyone that this is a big political game that's being played and I don't doubt for a second that Ms. Fluke has some sort of connection to the Dems. I'm sure they didn't just pull some girls name out of the phonebook to testify before a democratic sub committee. Someone probably raised their hand at meeting and said "Hey, I know somebody" It still doesn't change the fact that she is a Georgetown law student and private citizen and noone knew who she was until Rushbo inserted his mindless dribble, that was based on lie, into the mix. The fact that she can now fight back is because of the uproar over his comments and the support she's recieved because of it. Also, What makes the PR firm progressive? The fact that a democrat works there or because Bill-O says so? Or am I just missing the point of what these connections are suppose to mean.

I still don't see what difference it makes who's running the PR firm that is now working for her. I don't care if it's Obama himself. How can you blame him for trying to make as much hay as he possibly can. This whole "war on BC" started after Santorum's spiel about the evils of contraception following the mandate to the church. Plus the fact that Dan(?) Issa held his comittee meeting about BC without a single woman on the panel. I don't care how right or wrong his reasons were but it did not look good at all! This whole contraversy was delivered to Obama gift wrapped and Rush put a pretty bow on it. You are right though, no one, public or private, should be called names like that. It's degrading to us all. Makes you sound stupid when you use names like that.

Poor Rush. Over 140 of your advertisers have pulled their ads. Your show has taken to filling the space with PSAs and even dead air time.
And now Premiere Networks, the subsidiary of Clear Channel which distributes your show, has announced that for the next two weeks the show will not be running any national ads except from two advertisers.
Poor Rush. Was it worth it?

To suggest that Bill Maher gets away with the things he says is absurd. He lost a television show over comments he has made. He received all kinds of flak over things he has said about Tim Tebow. He also has appeared on numerous Fox shows, most recently on O'reiley to answer to those comments. (I'd love to see Rushbo on Maddow's show) He's answering for his Palin comments now and if you feel that Maher needs to pay a higher price than by all means go after him. I'm not saying that Maher's comments aren't vulgar and wrong only that they're different. Bill Maher picked a fight with some one his own size on HBO. Rush attacked a private citizen with outright lies on the public airwaves.
This of course is my opinion, so let's just say I'm wrong. The right is basically saying that Rush's comments are justified because Bill Maher says bad things too. The self proclaimed party of personel responsibility is passing the buck. If my kids have done something wrong they will be punished. I don't care if the nieghbors do the same thing. My kids won't. Isn't this the mantra of the social conservatives.

Ah. I see. The right isn't saying that Limbaugh's comments are OK. The right is simply saying that the left isn't allowed to talk about Limbaugh's comments because someone on "the left" also said something bad.

The Left said boo when Maher made his comments yet lost their minds with Limbaugh's comments. The Right is say Limbaugh's AND Maher's comments were bad. Whereas the Left (most not all) says only Limbaughs comments were bad.
Well, that depends. Putting aside the fact that "boo" vs "lost their mind" spilled out from your imagination.......
Some on the right have said essentially said that Limbaugh's comments are fine. That is, it isn't much of a criticism to say (like Limbaugh), "He shouldn't have called her a sl*t. But now listen while I justify the reasons he called her a sl*t for the next 5 minutes...."
And of course, when "the left" says that Limbaugh's comments are bad, "the left" is not simultaneously thereby saying that Maher's comments - or any other comments made in any point in spacetime - are OK. That isn't how conversation or logic works.
There's no rule of conversation that says that if one critizes another person's action, the critic must produce a list of all similar actions and opine about them.
"Democrat in time" is a lame game.
That Maher's comments were "different". BULLSH!T!
I also find it odd that you don't see any difference at all bearing on culpability between
A. Do*che on HBO uses one insulting word about ex-politician with public forum on Fox.
B. Do*che on radio launches 3-day campaign to convince world that prviate citizen is a "sl*t".
BULLSH!T!
Punching someone is different from stabbing them. Insulting someone is different than crapping on their oriental rug. It's called degree.

We can go on all day about the hypocrisy of the political parties. Tell me something I don't know.
