In response to GreginMeffa's comment:
Why no outcry at Bambi appointing Frackenstein for EnerGod, if fracking is so bad? When Bush pushed fracking, he was an asshole. Now its awsome, gee, what changed
Awesome? Who says its "awesome"?
It poses risks. If you pay attention to what the hated left actually says here, you'd see that the main thrust is "ok, frack, but so long as its adequately safe."
Was there an outcry when he was undersecretary of energy under Clinton, from the same people you expect should be making an outcry now?
But you are missing one obvious potential explanation: The way each candidate has talked and acted about "the environment" in general.
Something like 2/3 of the scientists working for the EPA reported political interference with their work from the Bush administration with regards to their assessments of global warming, regulation of mercury, regulation of air pollutants and so on.
So what do you expect when a guy who makes the EPA edit its findings to conform to his politics says anything positive about fracking, particularly where there IS evidence it can poison the groundwater?
In contrast, Obama made himself the "man who blocked the Keystone pipeline." He hasn't done much in the way of focusing on environmental regulation, but, at least we aren't seeing reports that he's forcing the EPA to tone down its view of the impact of pollutants.
In short, people trust Obama more on the environment than they trusted Bush.
It's common sense.
But if you want to talk hypocrisy, how about all these Republicans
- Who oppose Hillarycare with a slew of suggestions, which are now codified in the "socialist" death-panel "government takeover" called Obamacare?
- Who (along with Obama) are suddenly all changing their views on gay marriage now that it seems politically expedient?
- Who loved drones under Bush but hate them under Obama?
- Who hate gay people and then get caught having gay sex? Who preach family values and molest the intern?
And on and on and on.
.........might as well try to be an equal opportunity hypocrisy detector......
