"Meanwhile, more than 4,000 bills have been referred to committee this year, where most will die of starvation."

Thanks for the great news, appreciate it. Why let them die of starvation, when hanging is more appropriate for these innumerable efforts to screw us?

"The only things congress managed to accomplish so far this year."

If they managed to leave us alone, they have done a good job.

Who said they can't work on fixing those deemed defective?

The liberal notion of "fixing" defective government programs, is first, double the funding, second, triple the funding and third, quadruple the funding.

Government doesn't fix defective government programs, they double down on the defects.

Come on, CLC. Is that not getting a little bit old?

You object to GOP obstructionist Congress, yes? Well, liberals are just as entitled to object to the above.

So, really, if it ain't broke, why fix it. But of course, some programs are broke so why not fix them?

Another cliche. Do not throw out the baby with the bath water.

The less they do, the better off we are. And what difference does it make if they do nothing?

We don't even enforce most of them to begin with. And now, Congress has ceded so much power to the executive that the executive doesn't even think they need bills and Congress anyway.

For example, Obama decreed that the implementation of Obamacare that applies to businesses with over 50 employees be delayed a year. Who said he could do that? Congress passed the law, not Obama. Yet he is changing it on his own without a peep from the weaklings in Congress.

The food stamp program by any sane cursory review is totally,  irrevocably broken.  Doubled the number of recipients under Obama, crony capitalist corporations like JP Maorgan make hundreds of millions in processing fees, yet there are massive abuses; the very idea of the program hurts cuts the major food problem for the poor-obesity!

Yet any attempt to reform the program to any extent is met by the usual liberal talking point of heartless mean Republicans "letting children starve".....

Of all the things that are "broken" in gov't, the first thing you idiots want to go after is food stamps. But ya, it's not about the poor....

The house just passed a seperate status quo farm bill paying farmers whether they grow crops or not, but in your 'compassionate' neo-con mind, it's the people who need food assistance that's the problem.

Yep, you wingnuts sure do look out for the least among us.

Does being so disingenuous put your panties in a twist?

The farm subsides are a disgrace, and the GOP leadership is trying to cut as much as they can; conservative Senators are trying to do away with them altogether.

Too many Republicans supported these subsidies. It was a big step forward to separate farm subsidies from the unrelated food stamp program...but of course the moonbat reaction is per usual, "Starving children".

As to Democrats, the Party of Government, they are as always 100% in favor of giving taxpayer dollars away and gaining favor from large corporations like JP Morgan,  it is what they live for, and how they get elected.

And you prove my point about the food stamp program; antiquated programs can double, triple, quadruple, they can give hundreds of millions to crony big corporations, they can hire thousands of useless lardass bureaucrats....but any attempt to rein in any federal boondoggle to any extent is met by the 'lack of compassion' card....

Liberals only have compassion for heartless dependency-inducing failed dinosaur bureaucracy; they want to endlessly grow government, it is all they care about.

    CLC,

Yes, the U.S. is the 2nd "fattest" country on the planet...exceeded only by Mexico.

Obesity among the poor often goes to lack of access to healthy food versus cheap, high fat, high sugar processed food.

Healthy food like fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meat, poultry, fresh fish etc., cost more than the alternatives.
