Gov Patrick and the Casino licenses

These are not no bid licenses. The tracks have struggled for years with these watered down licenses. They employ a ton of low income people and contract out thousands of jobs to save money. At least one track should get a license, if we give three then all will be resolved.  Imagine the casino with a beautiful racetrack behind it? The city could host huge races that would be aired on national TV. The area around Suffolk downs has direct access to the airport and every town that touches it is hard working poor blue collar and poor citizens.People would be watching and say let's go to Boston  for our next vacation. (or just to rip it up)

In Response to Re: Gov Patrick and the Casino licenses:
This is a joke that my friends from other states can't stop laughing at 1.  No slots at race tracks because we don't want gambling at race tracks.  Wow! 2.  Ok, but any casino out in western Mass needs to be slots only.   Using the logic of 1. - we can only assume thats because we don't want horses running around blackjack tables and killing people! Anywhere else in the world, those 2 statements along side each other would be a SNL skit. Here, they're actually f'ing serious! Duh! - would make these idiots look WAY too smart!

I admit, I have no clue why the pols are being so stupid about this issue.  I think this is one of those times where you see the elitism in Mass politics coming out to play.  And you are right it is like a SNL skit.  Its like they want kosher gambling, no mixing two types of gambling! They must remain separate lest they both become contaminated and unusable!
