Government refuses to disclose welfare benefits , based on dead terrorist's supposed "right to privacy "

The truth is the Government itself is hiding this,  not because the terrorists got any special treatment, just would show yet again how easy it is to get on the dole, as so many have. And how the Government bureaucratic liberals encourage it.

Howie Carr is on a roll:

"It’s time for all the bureaucrats, paper-shufflers and flak-catchers to come clean on the Tsarnaev clan, those chiseling Chechens who tried to kill us last week.

Open the damn books! If somebody tries to murder you, you have a right to know everything about them, privacy be damned. I want to know everything about them, and I want to know it now, right down to the quality of the weed Dzhokhar was peddling down at UMass Dartmouth.

Were they living in Section 8 housing in Cambridge?

Did they use Obamaphones to detonate the pressure-cooker bombs?

Did lovebirds Katherine and Tamerlan sign up for the WIC program as soon their daughter was born?

Mass Health? SSI? SSDI? Were there any handouts these deadbeats weren’t grabbing?

Did Tamerlan really become “radicalized” when the state took away his EBT card and, by the way, why should I even believe that he had to give up his card, because no other layabout has ever had to?

Considering that Massachusetts supported them in their leisure, can you call their bombings “state-sponsored terrorism”?

Did the Tsarnaevs collect the so-called earned-income tax credit, even though they worked about as often as Santa Claus?

Where did all their cash come from, and don’t tell me that Tamerlan owned an “old” Mercedes — save that Vaseline for the Globe. How did he have a Mercedes when he was 25 years old, even though he’d never had a job?

Why is most of the state-controlled media trying to turn Dzhokhar into the white Trayvon Martin?

Does DTA stand for Department of Terrorist Assistance?

Did the Tsarnaev brothers’ mother, Zubeidat, file quarterly estimated income taxes on her shoplifting earnings?

If the Tsarnaevs were so persecuted in Kleptostan that they needed “asylum,” how come all of them fly back and forth to that Third World hellhole like they’re jumping on the Red Line to Park Street?

Does Gov. Deval Patrick still think these are just a bunch of “anecdotes”?

If Zubeidat returns to the Great Satan, will she get lugged on that default warrant out of Natick, or does she get a free ride … again?

And finally, will the guy whose SUV the terror twins carjacked in Cambridge put another “Coexist” bumper sticker on his new vehicle?

The hacks are dummying up on us. They’re circling the wagons, as if they were protecting a Probation officer.

    I’ll say it again.

    Open the damn books!"

Dont want to stereotype all terrorists as welfare recipients, since most  are hardworking full time employees of Al Qaeda....

Working taxpayers from the dreaded private sector (the suckers) pay for public employee salaries and welfare benefits...

At least now there are searchable databases where our public "servants" are listed with their mostly-inflated salaries.

Why cant taxpayers know who is receiving benefits ..after all, progressives tell us there is no shame in receiving public assistance , it is patriotic and helps stimulate the economy...

Why can the Government hide this from us?

Because the recipients have a right to privacy about their personal records.  You conservatives love the concept of rights, but only if you get to define them to serve your purposes.  Want to have your tax returns revealed?  No shame in paying taxes or making a buck...  Why can the government hide such information about you?

Just another constitutional right jettisoned when the going gets a little tough, eh...?

I can't wait to start my "Free Guns For Muslims" initiative.  They need to be able to protect themselves and their families, too, according to the constitution.  Should be interesting....

"Because the recipients have a right to privacy about their personal records."

Ah, this is where Ruebie and Matty convince themselves the Constitution absolutely mandates whatever political opinion they hold....very convenient for their purposes.

So there is a constitutional right to confidentiality on welfare payments?
I do believe different states have different privacy laws. And the law can and should be changed to allow the public to know who is receiving such generosity.

    Obviously, they don't.

Or why else would the news reports about the sequester overwhelmingly talk about adults' inconveniences at the nation's airports...

    Why?  What's it to ya?

How much did you pay in taxes last year??

Given your public belligerence, maybe some people would like to know what kind of tax breaks you're privy to.

I do believe there is right to privacy that is Constitutional in scope.  But you like to amend rights when it serves your own selfish purposes.  Can I see your taxes now?? What are you hiding?  Why should you have more rights than a welfare recipient?  What makes you so much better?  No, arrogance is not being "better".

"I do believe there is right to privacy that is Constitutional in scope. But you like to amend rights when it serves your own selfish purposes."

There is no Supreme Court decision stating that welfare recipients have a complete privacy right in their receipt of benefits. Especially IF THEY ARE DEAD.
Comparing taxes paid to free money received , not a good analogy.
We pay for welfare recipients, like we pay for public employees.

It is you that abuses the Constitution for your partisan beliefs.
Nice to imagine a Constitution which conveniently exists just to please leftwing atheists, and deny 'rights' to those you dont like...

Your Constitutional right to privacy will no doubt conveniently ignore certain 'privacy rights' of politically incorrect people you may not like, say gun owners , whose privacy is compromised by allowing displays of a map showing gun owners' addresses. Or those who signed a petition for a ballot question about traditional marriage, they have no privacy rights, their businesses can be harassed and threatened.

But a welfare recipient, hey the Constitution allows them benefits without anyone knowing and no questions asked, and no one the wiser.

Worship your almighty Government, it cures cancer (not) , gives poor kids a "head start" in school (fully documented and proven failure of a program, it doesnt give a head start) , and keeps your food perfect (private industry regulates itself mostly)..

The Statist Obama Administration views the public as the enemy, from which more revenue must be extraced.. Blackmail them with flight delays on purpose, even though they could have remedied this situation.

Right.  A terrorist blows up a marathon, protect his rights, as if that's really an issue.  An honest, law abiding citizen gets a gun permit, put their name, address, number off guns up on a web site so everyone can steer clear, and the. Government sham try to shame them for exercising their rights.

the liberals have made this an upside down world.

Re: Government refuses to disclose welfare benefits , based on dead terrorist's supposed

If a private sector business had to cut 5%, best believe they would find a way to continue to deliver the product or service to customers....because they have to.

By contrast, the Obama Government doesnt consider us their servants or customers, , they consider themselves our masters..they want to make the sequester hurt....hurt us, not them...no salary cuts or layoffs.

"This week the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) began furloughing each of its air-traffic controllers for one day out of every 10 to achieve roughly $600 million in savings this fiscal year. The White House dubiously claims that the furloughs are required by the sequester spending cuts enacted in 2011.

Capitol Hill Republicans say the White House is free to make other cuts instead. House Transportation and Infrastructure Chairman Bill Shuster suggests the FAA first take a whack at the $500 million it’s spending on consultants, or perhaps the $325 million it blows on supplies and travel.

In case there’s any doubt about the President’s ability to prioritize, at least two GOP Senators, Jerry Moran and Roy Blunt, have written bills to clarify Mr. Obama’s authority to make sensible spending decisions. He’s not interested, and Senate Democrats have blocked such reforms. Making smart choices about federal sending would spoil the fun of creating flight delays and then blaming Republicans.

Obviously the insignificant temporary reduction in the rate of increase of government spending entailed in the sequester does not make it necessary to furlough air traffic controllers. Our federal overlords are taking in more money than any other government in the history of humanity. Even now the FAA wastefully flings our money to the four winds:

On Monday, as flight delays were hitting travelers at airports around the country due to these allegedly unavoidable cuts, the top story on the Department of Transportation’s website announced a $474 million grant program that promises to “make communities more livable and sustainable.”

[…Transportation Secretary Raymond LaHoodlum's] website on Monday also announced that “DOT launches Women in Transportation History online exhibit.” No doubt all the female passengers waiting for a flight out of LAX will be ecstatic.
