It's what I have been arguing all along. Its not that we shouldn't conserve or mitigate pollutants but, to rely on unreliable data to make make changes that hurt the economy at this point is just irresponsible!

But given how much is riding on the scientific forecast, the practitioners of climate science would like to understand exactly what is going on. They admit that they do not

Man made global warming and the hysteric true-believer warmists that promote it to further their political agendas over the scientific method.

    Hyperbole???

Climate policy has almost nothing to do anymore with environmental protection, says the German economist and IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer. The next world climate summit in Cancun is actually an economy summit during which the distribution of the world’s resources will be negotiated. – Ottmar Edenhofer

Who is Ottmar Edenhoffer? He is one of three co-chairs of the UN IPCC Working Group III - Mitigation of Climate Change.

This movement has NEVER been about climate change, it's always been about a politcal agenda.

Wingnut deniers are still bitter about losing the cigarettes cause cancer brohaha back in the seventies. They just need another subject to become unhinged about and man made global warming seems to be it.

That's okay, just leave it to the rest of us to work on the solution. In the meantime, try not to use the planet as your own private trashcan.

Right because of course only conservatives litter. Funny, the libs who I know smoke and they go on and on about the planet and not littering etc, etc. Yet they all throw their cigarette butts on the ground. Wherever they are standing outside, dropped. Driving in car, tossed.

Apparently cigarette butts aren't considered trash to some liberals. Who knew.

What "political agenda" do the underpaid scientists actually doing the work have?

The one in which the chances of funding are greater when the results match the political needs of the people who provide the funding. The court jester needs to keep the King amused so that his head stays attached to his neck.

    Re:

That why do you assume everyone else (who disagrees with you) does?

Not everyone else, but I know that there is enormous pressure to get funding in the academic research world.  I know that some people succumb to the temptation to 'fudge' things a little if it means a better chance at funding and the opportunity to continue their work. It happens all the time, it's human nature.

    http://www.nature.com/news/misconduct-is-the-main-cause-of-life-sciences-retractions-1.11507

Conventional wisdom says that most retractions of papers in scientific journals are triggered by unintentional errors. Not so, according to one of the largest-ever studies of retractions. A survey1 published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has found that two-thirds of retracted life-sciences papers were stricken from the scientific record because of misconduct such as fraud or suspected fraud — and that journals sometimes soft-pedal the reason.

Tvoter has run his mouth about the 15 year thing over and over. Every time it's been shot down. Somehow, he thinks waiting another month and posting again will shock everyone into the realms of denying.

Cherrypicking a few years says nothing about a long-term trend. It also does not undermine the heat-trapping theory.

You my dear little self absorbed friend have no f-ing idea how the planet will react to any variance any more than these esteemed scientist have no idea why a huge increase in "greenhouse" gases were met with NO warming!

As i have stated many many times; I do believe in global warming and I do believe we need cleaner fuels.

I do not buy into the theory that warming is absolutley man made or that our little spec of life can control it.

This planet has been alot hotter and alot cooler before our all knowing theories were in the picture.

25 years ago all knowing "climate scientist" that supported "man made global warming" predicted that our coasts would be gone now and that the ice caps would be 70% gone by now!!

    How'd that work out?
