In Response to Re: Guess who apologized for America...AGAIN!!!! : I am not sure Bush was a real neocon.  I am not sure he had much of an idelogy at all.  He allowed himself to be pulled this way and that by the various groups he surrounded himself with.  The neocons certainly had the upper hand for a period of time.  He would mouth vague conservative platitudes, but I do not think Bush had any real commitment to a set of core beliefs.

I disagree 100%. One of Bush's biggest faults was his "my way is the only way" born again "all people should be free" ideology. He was the epitome of the Neo-Cons. Big government, strong military and exporting democracy regardless of the feelings of the people involved.

In Response to Re: Guess who apologized for America...AGAIN!!!! : If you left out the opinion that would have been factual.  Neo-cons were not socialists.  They were not tired of weak military democrats since the concept didn't exist yet. What is important here is that neo-conservatism believes in exerting pressure internationally to affect democratization and especially trade.  Until Reagan the idea that a neo-con could be a republican was ridiculous.  Reagan was NOT a trrue neo-con, but he employed some in his effort to make the Cold War his primary issue.

MT, "Neo-Cons" were around in the 40's and started to move towards the Republicans during the 60's. Irving Kristol was considered the unofficial first public face. Kristol was one of the first to use the Neo-Con moniker in the 70's. They were socialist and liberals who were supporters of FDR and the US involvement in WWII and the social justice of the New Deal, unionism and Trotsky.

Obama just can't help himself.  UN, world spotlight.  He apologized for the US on climate change. The atmosphere and climates of earth have been fluctuating for millions of years.  Our country is not that old. I wish for once, that Obama would not apologize for America but instead stand up, defend and support America.  I understand it goes against every fiber of his being to do something like that but he's the one who wanted to be President and Commander in Chief.  It's his job now.

Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives. John Stuart Mill Lets just say this is true. I am conservative. I am not stupid although leave it to a liberal to tell me on this site using insults and profanity to tell me that I am stupid. I will accept the statement as a given. Mr Mill says most stupid people are conservative. Now lets take a look at the results of the 2 past presidential elections. http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/vote2004/countymap.htm The overwhelming number of counties nationwide voted republican. The places where the map is blue? Large urban areas with lots of people receiving entitlements. This leads me to believe that although most stupid people are conservative. Almost all under educated people vote democrat. This is the reason why democrats favor allowing amnesty for all illegals. Once given the vote, the under educated vote to reach into the stupid peoples pockets and take their money. That's why they are stupid. They let it happen. John Stuart Mill lived in the 19th century. Where did you find the Mill quote? Your non agenda driven college text book?

You've got it backwards.  Not surprising for someone who doesn't even know who JS Mill is.  Educated people (presumably not stupid) vote democratic.  Uneducated (and entitlement using) poor rural people (think deep south) vote republican.  Politics is new to you (clearly).  A good primer is the book Talk Radio and The American Dream.  Give it a try.

If you go back far enough they were all communists, but that's as relevant today as Reagan's days as a democratic union leader.  Things change, people change, and "isms" change.  Remember when the republicans were laissez faire and small government?  I vaguely remember it myself.  What is important today and to this discussion is that neo-conservatism is essentially the belief that the US has an obligation and a self-interest to involve itself in foreign affairs.  I don't really think Bush II had this belief, but I can see how it can be debateable.  I doubt Bush would have gone to Kosovo and he did nothing for Darfur.  Iraq was just a brain cramp "he tried to kill my daddy", and Afghanistan was a neo-con policy move, but came about only because of a very domestic event.

Obamas quotes are funnier than Rodneys.
He's kissed everyone's azz but Americas. His lips must be sore.
Do they drug test the president?

Personally I like the guy but this apologizing has to stop. As a leader you have to stand up for your country.  He shows a face of weakness.  I'd be interested to hear the real feedback from the world leaders on him.  Do you ever wonder what he would have done if he was president at another time?  Revolutionary War - maybe give the US back to England?  Civil War- maybe surrender to the south?  WWII - surrender to the Japanese after Pearl Harbor or not help Europe win the war?  9/11 - how would he have handled it?  It's always easier to be a Monday AM Quarterback.  It was one of the most difficult times for a US President in our history.

Sometimes you have to "carry a big stick".

I  support our president as everyone should but he needs to show some strength.
