hen will we place the blame for killing children where it really belongs?

    Liberal policies that give us:

"Gun Free zones that turn into kill boxes

    and

Mentally ill people wandering the streets

To the extent this problem can be solved, those are the two pieces of the puzzle that create the opportunity.

Thought the mentally ill people wandering the streets one was pretty settled by now, associated with a certain revered presidency (not Bush II, before your usual comeback).

Gun free zones are the problem? No guns are the problem. If the entire country was gun free we would have no gun deaths at all. And you have no plan for the mentally ill. Don't pretend that you do. And don't pretend that the mentally ill were created by liberal policies. As if you want to pay more money for their care... it would infringe on your "right" to be selfish.

Bottom line: You don't love children enough to look for real answers.  You don't love anybody much at all.  You are a stunted individual.

There you go again, unwilling to look at the real problem, and hiding behind little children to inoculate you from criticism.  For you, it's all about disarming people to suit your warped "government as god" ideology.

You and firewand are unwilling to look at other factors in this shooting, as if they don't exist.  There is the "gun free" environment, which apparently is a favorite target of these mass murderers, because their victims are unarmed.  And, of course, you don’t want to do anything about the small but disturbing number of sick individuals wandering free who are a threat to us all.

When you are ready to stop leveraging this tragedy to advance your political agenda of disarming honest citizens, I guess we can have a reasonable discussion.

2 mental health evaluations per year for anyone who owns a gun and all of the family members living under the same roof as the gun.  A 200% tax on ammunition will pay for the evaluations.  You fail, you hand over the guns for meltdown.

We have a right to walk around without fear of being shot, and I believe that trumps anyone's right to own a gun.

Rube's a lawyer?  I thought he was a math professor, an imam, black, half-black, jewish, or several of the other claims he has made over the years.

That's because they are unarmed.  Likely because government has made it too difficult to protect themselves against those to whom laws mean nothing.

    logic does escape you.

The debate isn't about guns in general, it's about one very narrow type of gun: Assault Rifles.

Carrying a handgun for self-defense? That makes some kind of sense if it makes you feel safer / tougher.

But I can't recall seeing anyone ever in my life walking around with an AR-15 over his shoulder for "self-defense", or really, for any reason. But I have read about them being taken into theatres and schools for murder.

    [/QUOTE]

You must be a city dweller. A rife makes more sense in more rural environments, some burbs. As far as AR 15 vs. other rifles, well, in a general sense, that's just marketing. A rifle is a rifle.  Very few people can take advantage of the added features of an AR-15.

A shotgun is a much more preferable weapon in either envirnoment IMHO.

I blame skeeter for slowly but steadily killing his brain cells with the pap that leads him to post such inanity.

Living proof that we continue to allow the mentally ill to roam the interwebs.
