I am sorry but the premise of this thread is the height of rediculous. on the one hand you have the hostage taker demending a ransom. ANd when he is not able to get his ransom he just lowers his asking price! When there is no taker some very limited minded person says... gee how come no negotiation? Shouldn't the victim (the victim is the United States of America) negotiate with this guy? After all he is willing to change his ransom demands...

If this was a movie it would be a comedy! ALmsot like the old short story Ransom of Red Chief I think was the title. In this story here though.... Funny guy takes a hostage and sends ransom note. Asks for lots of money. When the response is no he responds asking for less... then again.. asking for less... then asks to negotiate.... all the while he is the funny, inept bad guy and the rest of the world is not about to "negotiate" with such a lame loser.

When you wake up from your delusion I am sure you will be welcome back into the land of the real.

The Dems have already proved willing and able to "own" the ACA.

The voters affirmed this somewhat by casting more overall votes for dems last fall and re-electing POTUS.

Purely by coincidence, they've found themselves in the unusual (for DC) position of being unified in their convictions for a cause that doesn't only benefit them.

For better or worse, the dems have pinned their entire political future on the law - at the dire risk of hurting and alienating one of their largest, most historically supportive demographics: young adults.

Meanwhile, the formerly resolute GOP has something close to a mutiny afoot.

If the GOP was really determined in their belief that the ACA will fail spectacularly and doom the dems to the electoral wastelands...

...then why are they so terrified of allowing it to go forward...??  What do they fear about millions of less fortunate, displaced people getting basic access to decent healthcare...??

(And no, phony platitudes about "freedomz" and "liberteez" and "loving this country" are not valid rejoinders.)

Delay yes, look JA it's already been delayed for unions, big donors and congress and the admin and their staff get the subsidies that citizens who make less in the private sector can't get. So, what's the problem giving everyone the same courtesy that the cronies get??

    I'm not so sure.

When gerrymandering has carved out districts that are overwhelmingly older, white males this kind of anarchism plays well, especially when you combine it with the "take our country back from the foreign-born, Muslim, socialist/communist usurper in the Whitehouse" rhetoric.

This is political gold for the wingnuts back home.

    [/QUOTE]

Traditional republicans hate this, and wall street republicans are getting p1ssed.  Anybody who breaks ranks (they've already cracked) will be primaried, and the tea party stooge that replaces him will be easy pickings.
