If the Republicans can't stand up to whacko insurgents...

If the Republicans can't stand up to whacko insurgents in their own ranks, how would they ever be able to defeat Al Qaeda?

If the GOP cannot be trusted to do the right thing, can they trusted with national defense?

Apparently the voters kinda like most of these Republican 'whacko insurgents'..they think Obama's far left failed policies are whacko.

    Polls:
    Joe Miller +15
    Mike Lee +27
    Sharron Angle tied
    Marco Rubio +10
    Rand Paul +9

Bob, based on your unsourced numbers, Americans will vote for a Democratic led Senate.  Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the whacko Republicans.

By the way, what are your polls showing for Christine "Witchy Woman" O'Donnell?

A GOP that cannot be trusted to do the right thing might mislead America with false data about WMDs, mismanage two wars and funnel billions of unaccounted-for dollars to Halliburton, Blackwater and other suspect firms through no-bid contracts.  They might even blatantly pander for votes by enacting the largest expansion of Medicare ever through deficit financing and subsidies to big pharma.

    Just saying, it could happen.

How is Feingold looking in wisconsin?

As it stands now the reps look to be picking up about 8 seats in the senate this year.  How many rep seats are the dems going to pick up in the senate this year?

You can not say they are voting to keep the senate in dem hands since only 36 members in the senate are up this year.

Congress looks like it is going to the reps, and that is due to the fact all 435 memebers are on the ballot this year.

Guess my grandfather (who is a democrat) should give back all his medals from WWII. What a silly statement. Republicans know how to posture better on defense than democrats. And the democratic party certainly has its share of hippies. But I would take a democart hawk any day of the week over a republican.

As for appointing republicans to Secretary of Defense, it just shows the democrats don't seem to have noticed the republicans completely botched the past 8 years of US military ventures. I wouldn't trust them to raid the fridge, let alone Afghanistan.

Your grandfather was Secretary of State during WWII? A guy following orders on the front lines is a lot different than the guy in DC making the decisions. If you had served you'd probably understand that.

Hilarious.  How was Walter Reed under W's watch?  Gotta love a rich kid who couldn't even show up for his National Guard duties running attack ads against a man who volunteered to go to war.  Class act all the way.

Bush/Cheney Republicants have the stomach to start wars, they just didn't have the balls to go fight themselves, or the brains to win them.  The worst kind of cowards.

Sure they are. Harry Reid is very much an old style democrat. I know that probably isn't a statement that sits well with you, but its true. Since the New Deal, FDR has been the model, and up until very, very recently, democrats embraced the role of defending the people against more powerful forces in the country. Now that is suddenly a cardinal sin.

All democrats want is for the rich to pay their fair share, which they haven't in decades. For people to have some safety net to fall back on when things get rough. For people to be protected from more powerful interest groups.

So what is the fair share for the rich,  I mean if you live in NYC and pay the top tax rate to the feds state and city you are paying well north of 60% in taxes.

And there are about 40% in America who pay zero in income taxes, ie the sponges.

Actually almost half US "taxpayers" either pay no tax or get money back in the for of (un)earned income credit. Just wait until they become the majority - Atlas will certainly shrug.

The fact is the rich can afford it, the 40% can't. Our country had a progressive tax system for years, and it worked. Now the rich simply don't pay their fair share. I am sorry, you want me to feel bad for the top 5% of the country, because they pay more? No. Boo hoo.
