Reform of mental health treatment is something that may help prevent more mass shootings, more than gun control, which will do nothing.

In other news: progressives starting early in spinning for 2016.

If Christie decides not to run or doesnt get the nomination, the progressives will want him on Mt Rushmore, next to Jon Huntsman.

Both Huntsman and Christie would fit the bill.

They could both just as easily be Democrats. Why bother having an election when no matter who you vote for you get the same policies?

    Really?!

And what "reforms" would you suggest...?  (keeping in mind that nobody wants to pay for it, as I've said before)

Are you proposing sweeping regulation of mental health practitioners...?

    In response to A_Concerned_Citizen's comment:

Where Huntsman and Christie succeed is that they represent fiscal conservativism without the baggage of the judgemental and out-of-step 'morality' positions on gay marriage, abortion and religious tests that the extremists favor.

Liberals are full of it. Romney was no extremist; he was Governor of a blue state, supported a version of ObamaCare, and solidly won the independent vote in 2012.

Huntsman is a pro-life,  pro-"informed consent for abortions",  religious Mormon and privileged son of a multi-billionaire family; he is coddled by liberals now only because he allows libs to pretend they are 'moderate' because they like a supposed Republican...

If Huntsman was the GOP nominee in 2012, he would have been eviscerated as a Utah nutcase Mormon, "anti-woman",  in favor of "vaginal probes" and the major issues would be the size and number of his cars and driveway, how many wives his great-grandfather had, his wealth and investments,  and putting his dog on a crate on family vacations ...sound familiar?

Didnt the Boston bombing prove that it's the intent not the weapon. These guys used pressure cookers, BB's and nails loaded with an explosive and a blasting cap!

I would argue that if Romney had maintained those positions that got him elected gov of a blue state, he would have had a better chance at winning the election.

It was his backtracking and flip/flopping and declaration of being a "severe conservative" among other things, that the voters saw as opportunistic rather than sincere.

More like it's extremely difficult to beat incumbent president. So much so that in past 60 years only two elected presidents seeking re-election didn't get re-elected.
