The IRS Inspector General told Issa about the IRS investigations of Social Welfare Groups in August of 2012 ...... Issa must have hidden that information from the rest of the House

    and did you read it?

"While George informed Treasury officials about the fact he was conducting the investigation in 2012, the Treasury Department says he did not go into detail about his investigation or tell them about his conclusion that IRS had improperly targeted conservative groups. Similarly, the letter to Issa says the investigation had begun but does not say that it had uncovered any wrongdoing."

ACC, none of that mitigates this in any way:

    In response to A_Concerned_Citizen's comment:

Issa claims to have known, as early as last year, more about what was in the report than anyone else, and he didn't say anything. He's the one who requested the investigation.

The actual report wasn't finished until last week.

It would seem that the neo-cons have no problem creating scandals based on innuendo, half-truths and altered emails but if that scandal involves themselves then those half-truths and innuendo shouldn't be held against them.

Issa is chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Issa, according to an aide, asked the IG for an investigation last spring, after hearing allegations of selective targeting of conservative groups. The IG told him in a letter this summer that he was looking into it.

"I know approximately what's in it," Issa told Bloomberg Businessweek on Monday when asked if he knew what would be in the report. "I knew what was approximately in it when we made the allegations about a year ago. This is one of those things where it's been, in a sense, an open secret, but you don't accuse the IRS until you've had a nonpartisan, deep look. That's what the IG has done. That's why the IGs in fact exist within government, is to find this kind of waste and fraud and abuse of power."

He did know about the investigation. He didnt know they concluded there was political bias and intimidation for political reasons within the IRS

Issa can't go to the press without proof, you know that. He would have gotten hammered by people like you for being irresponsible.

In any case, it's the responsibiltiy of the IRS to make their investigation public and they chose not to for political reasons. That is the issue.

You don't accuse anyone without evidence, unless you're Harry Reid of course. That doesn't excuse the IRS for having completed an internal investigation a year ago and not going public with it. Apples and oranges.

The WH being PROHIBITED from interfering with the IRS is much different from CAN'T.

That is why we have investigations!

And the WH can't break the law and interfere in IRS activities.

Dude, the IRS is under the direct control of the Secretary of the Treasury who reports to the POTUS. Don't tell me that they are not responsible for the IRS, that's absurd.

The IRS did an investigation which WASN'T reported to the Treasury or the WH.

Ahhhhh, and therein lies the rub. Who knew about the results of the investigation and when? Those are still open questions.

    Yes, it is.

Take it one step further: That we have investigations is the primary reason your ideology bleeds through all your jumping and shouting about Obama's supposed wrongdoings the last several years.

    Wait for evidence...

I think the evidence is piled up to the ceiling.

Either Obama did plenty wrong, or he is completely incompetent.  It's one or the other.
