It isn't impossible to stop illegal immigration!

Re: It isn't impossible to stop illegal immigration!

It's an understandable dilemma.  Most of the legal immigrants I know work much harder and with fewer complaints than American workers do.

A very good friend of mine tried to hire Americans for his small business.  They wanted more money than the job was worth.  He found a group of legal Brazilian immigrants who worked so well that his business tripled within one year.  Now, those first hires are helping with running the business and doing quite well for themselves.

If Americans want more work, they'll have to earn it.

[QUOTE]".. and.. just what they bring to our great society is... what" About 4.5% of our total workforce and about $9 billion dollars a year in taxes.
    Posted by DanCP[/QUOTE

Ohh they provide a profit?? How much a head do we make?

Add up their overhead on our society which working legal citizens pay for are you're in the red. Court, penal and legal systems for these... ummm "uninvited guests" consume more than that annually.

I'll bet if 4.5% of non working legal Americans could take those jobs, we would be in a much better place.

This is perhaps all moot and not worth the emotion my friend. Can't close the barn door after 12 + million cows escape.

Nothing like wingnuts spouting lies...some things never change.

It's actually a myth, according to the Congressional Research Service, the investigative arm of Congress.

MYTH: The nation spends billions of dollars on welfare for undocumented immigrants.

FACTS: To the contrary, undocumented immigrants are not eligible to receive any "welfare" benefits and even legal immigrants are severely restricted in the benefits they can receive.

As the Congressional Research Service points out in a 2007 report, undocumented immigrants, who comprise nearly one-third of all immigrants in the country, are not eligible to receive public "welfare" benefits -- ever.

Me neither.  They are being used while simultaneously hurting America.  I'll be honest, I am most afraid of an entire new class of entitlement voters.   I suppose the barn door has been left open too long anyway.  Everyone expects the government to solve everything now.

If illegals cant get benefits (state or fed, as your earlier post implies) how does obama's aunt still get free housing?

Welfare is only ONE component.. see above. It's still must be in the hundreds of BILLIONS when you add up ALL resources consumed.

Speaking to Hispanic reporters at the White House, Obama said he hopes a bill for comprehensive immigration reform will be drafted by the end of this year. Obama tapped Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on June 25 to work with Congress to speed up immigration reform as senators warned another failed effort could doom chances for a generation. Obama said he asked Napolitano to meet regularly with lawmakers to systematically work through a number of controversial issues, such as how to handle the 12 million illegal immigrants already in the United States and how to prevent future illegal immigration. "We have convened a meeting of all the relevant stakeholders, and Secretary Napolitano is working with the group to start creating the framework for a comprehensive immigration reform," the president said. No. Of Illegal Aliens On Welfare Doubles In Nevada

The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program (TANF) was created by the U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services a few years ago so that illegal aliens could get monthly welfare checks to help support the entire family. It is the only public assistance program where parents can apply in their children’s name as opposed to applying in their own. It also does not require parents to demonstrate that they are in the U.S. legally since most aren’t.

In Nevada alone, the TANF program’s caseload has grown 96% since the recession hit the state like an atomic bomb two years ago. A news report reveals that around 4,250 of the families receiving the benefit in Nevada have "mixed immigration status In other words, U.S. taxpayers are supporting thousands of illegal alien families because they have at least one anchor baby.

Nevada already blows a whopping $630 million a year to provide its rapidly growing illegal immigrant population with public services that should be reserved for legal U.S. residents. The Silver State spends $470 million annually to educate the children of illegal immigrants in public schools and an additional $45 million for limited English programs. Eighty five million goes to healthcare for illegal immigrants and $31 to incarcerate them

These numbers a bogus. They're using "mixed immigration status which includes legal immigrants, temporary workers etc. to inflate the numbers.

TANF was started in 1996 to replace AFDC and requires recipients to work. The program is supposed to be for legal(after living in the US for five years) aliens and citizens. If people are gaming the system it's the states fault. Unlife other federal programs, the states are entirely in charge of who gets benefits.

What's bogus is that claiming illegals are not collecting welfare

    Immigrant families constitute a large and growing segment of families in the United States;
according to the Urban Institute, almost one-fourth of children and youth are either
immigrants themselves or children of immigrants. Additionally, a large number of immigrant
households are composed of mixed status families where one or both parents are non-citizens
and one or more children are citizens. It is estimated that immigrant families represent 16.8%
of New Mexico’s total population (2005 American Community Survey
mixed immigration status mean 1 or both parents is illegal, and 1 or more child is legal citizen(anchor baby)

I'm sure the state of Nevada is making this up

Thanks.  The article says that American born children of illegal immigrants are entitled to benefits.  Are you suggesting it is legally possible to exclude these citizens from benefits?

Two fences....they don't need to be fancy.  In between them place a lot of mines.  In areas where mines don't work well, place remote controlled .50 cal. machine guns.  Problem solved.

For the existing criminals illegal aliens...stop giving them free healthcare, free educations and welfare.  Empty the millions from our jails and send them back.  Problem solved as long as we build the fence with the mines and machine guns.

After a few illegals get blown up or cut in half by the 50 cal, the word will get out and they'll stop trying to cross the border illegally.

    This is so simple.
