Joe Biden Meeting With Video Game Industry On Guns

WASHINGTON — Looking for broader remedies to gun violence, Vice President Joe Biden is reaching out to the video game industry for ideas as the White House seeks to assemble proposals in response to last month's massacre at a Connecticut elementary school.

Biden is scheduled to meet with video game representatives Friday as the White House explores cultural factors that may contribute to violent behavior.

The vice president, who is leading a task force that will present recommendations to President Barack Obama on Tuesday, met with other representatives from the entertainment industry, including Comcast Corp. and the Motion Picture Association of America, on Thursday.

But, but, wait....I thought video games and violence in tv and movies had nothing to do with mass shootings??? I know that's what many resident libs have stated on BDC.

Re: Joe Biden Meeting With Video Game Industry On Guns

“My former colleagues in the Senate, who have been pretty universally opposed to any restrictions on gun ownership or what type of weapons can be purchased, et cetera… I’ve never quite heard as much talk about the need to do something about high-capacity magazines as I’ve heard spontaneously from every group that we’ve met with so far,” Biden said Thursday during a meeting with sportsmen.

Some in the media, reading tea leaves, have taken Biden’s silence at these meetings to mean the White House is moving away from pushing an assault weapons ban like the one he was a principal author of in 1994, and that Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California is pushing now.

Why are you complaining?  He also met with the movie industry yesterday in addition to the NRA.  So there is a problem with exploring the ideas that were proposed from all sides including cultural issues?  Isn't that what the right wanted?

Not complaining. Just seems odd Dems would looking into videos games and movies in regards to gun violence when we've been told these have NOTHING to do with gun violence. Hmmm...

If he didn't then you'd be complaining that no one listened and went straight for guns without considering cultural issues, mental health, etc.  In other words you'll complain no matter what.

Psst....I've said over and over and over and over and over and over and over that I'm ok with banning assault weapons and high capacity mags. Oh and I haven't put blame on video games or movies. OOPSIE!!!!!!

    You think this is solvable?

I think the degree to which any problem is solvable is directly correlated to the resolve and and imagination of those tasked with finding a solution.  Does any of this mean that a person that is determined to commit an act of violence can be stopped?  No, that is incredibly unlikely.  But we can deny them methods and tools that would make there actions more lethal or deadly.  But options do we have?  Do nothing because the probalem is too daunting?  Mail everyone in the country a gun and tell them settle problems wild west style?

If only that were correct. Evidence proves otherwise. If it was true there would have been no asault weapons/high capacity mags used between 1994-2004. Or used at all since and beyond in MA and CA.

But wait, didn't the largest gun lobby in the country cast balme on the entertainment industry?

So when Biden listens to their opinion and looks into the idea, the whacko wingnuts now want to distance themselves from the idea.

Gawd you idiots are fvcking ridiculous.

Ya'll keep what passes for a spine in a petri dish next to your bed.

NRA are idiots. But it was YOU guys who said video games and movies have nothing to do with gun violence. Surely you should be calling out your boy Biden for looking inot something that, again according to people like you, has nothing to do with gun violence. So much for YOUR spine eh?

    OUCHIE!!!!!

The NRA blames video games....even though they sell a gun video game for playstation.

Its not the video games, its the guns.

    Typical a55hat board troll....again.

So in your ignorant little mind there are only two options.

Ya, I guess any other option isn't available?

Like say, I don't know enough on the subject or have read enough on the subject to make an informed opinion.

Or that I don't have an opinion either way because there isn't enough hard, provable evidence to satisfy my standards as to making an imformed decision.

Or that there is compelling evidence on both sides of the issues and I don't know enough about psychology or psychiatry to judge whether any study on the subject is more accurate than the next.

First you lied about what I said, then I was 'guilty' because of what I didn't say and now your fvckedup logic is that I just have to have an opinion because you say so and that by not 'calling out' someone I must agree with them.

Gawd, just shut the fcuk up already.

    Coward!
