Re: Joe Biden Meeting With Video Game Industry On Guns

“My former colleagues in the Senate, who have been pretty universally opposed to any restrictions on gun ownership or what type of weapons can be purchased, et cetera… I’ve never quite heard as much talk about the need to do something about high-capacity magazines as I’ve heard spontaneously from every group that we’ve met with so far,” Biden said Thursday during a meeting with sportsmen.

Some in the media, reading tea leaves, have taken Biden’s silence at these meetings to mean the White House is moving away from pushing an assault weapons ban like the one he was a principal author of in 1994, and that Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California is pushing now.

Why are you complaining?  He also met with the movie industry yesterday in addition to the NRA.  So there is a problem with exploring the ideas that were proposed from all sides including cultural issues?  Isn't that what the right wanted?

Not complaining. Just seems odd Dems would looking into videos games and movies in regards to gun violence when we've been told these have NOTHING to do with gun violence. Hmmm...

If he didn't then you'd be complaining that no one listened and went straight for guns without considering cultural issues, mental health, etc.  In other words you'll complain no matter what.

    You think this is solvable?

    [/QUOTE]

I think the degree to which any problem is solvable is directly correlated to the resolve and and imagination of those tasked with finding a solution.  Does any of this mean that a person that is determined to commit an act of violence can be stopped?  No, that is incredibly unlikely.  But we can deny them methods and tools that would make there actions more lethal or deadly.  But options do we have?  Do nothing because the probalem is too daunting?  Mail everyone in the country a gun and tell them settle problems wild west style?

The NRA blames video games....even though they sell a gun video game for playstation.

Its not the video games, its the guns.
