Jon Stewart Is A More Trusted News Source Than MSNBC, Study Says

Jon Stewart may not be the most trusted man in news, but he's more trusted than MSNBC, according to a new survey by the Brookings Institution.

The think tank did a study about immigration and the media that contained within it a broader question for Americans about which news outlet they trusted most.

Fox News came in first, which isn't anything new; the network has been consistently named both the most and the least trusted one for years, thanks to its extremely polarized status.

Unfortunately for MSNBC, it came in dead last, with just 5 percent of Americans saying they trusted it most. 8 percent, by comparison, chose "The Daily Show."

The study comes just weeks after another study showed that Stephen Colbert did a better job at informing people about campaign finance issues than traditional news outlets.

Amazing how people twist poll results to fit their own narrative.  MSNBC has low ratings.  If few people watch, then few people are gong to say they trust them.  A sitcom can be the funniest thing ever but if no one watches it, then few people are going to say it's the funniest show of TV.

Or, perhaps people don't watch MSNBC because they don't trust them.

MSNBC, FOX, CNN.. they're all propaganda machines used to dumb down america. just look at most of the people in this forum. complete idiots who just repeat what they see and hear on their favorite tube channel. you get more accurate news on Comedy Central than you do actual news stations.

people trusting a comedian on a comedy network over a news station (no matter how biased they are) is just plain sad.

you have to read a few newspapers, watch different news programs, and almost be a news junkie to get something that resembles the truth these days.

Interesting.  I trust exactly zero percent of TV news.  The biases are not only visible, they're institutional, as is just about anything to do with public relations.

A better survey would be on the number of logical fallacies on any given news show on any given day.  Surveyors would give up after the first few hundred. (leaving aside for a moment the inherent bias of being beholden to corporate advertisers).
