Leftist Hollywood successfully blacklists 'Zero Dark Thirty'

Basically, Hollywood is filled with a bunch of politically correct Far Left navel gazers sitting around in a self-congratulatory circle-jerk.
Hollywood has blacklisted a movie 'Zero Dark Thirty' which indicated an inconvenient truth--intelligence gleaned from coercive interrogation of murderous thugs, led directly to the death of Bin Ladin....
Despite early buzz, the blacklist campaign resulted in no major Oscar nomination for this movie. High profile Hollywood actors are smiting the film for supposedly having the wrong ideology. No Oscars for you, comrade, unless you toe the Party line.
In the 50s, leftists in Hollywood couldnt get work. Today, only leftists get work.
'Zero Dark Thirty' by no means sugarcoats coercive interrogation.A HuffPost progressive indicated the movie "shows that torture alone did not work and that scores of Saudis were killed because of such failure"....and to his credit, he said "The saddest effect of the anti-ZDT camp is its swerve toward a new McCarthyism"...

Left wing propaganda like "Game Change" wins awards...conservative views are blacklisted.

Never got until now that Zero Dark Thirty was pushing your political agenda, that it had the corner on the pro-America market. Why didn't you let us know its propaganda mission when it came out?
Now, about Argo... which has gotten Best Picture etc. etc. in all the preliminary contests, and may be headed for the Best Picture Oscar... What are its politics? (Careful, trick question, as your answer may not track with Mr. Affleck's.)
The director's view aside, before that happens this round, please tip us off as to what it will symbolize to you and like-minded patriots if it wins? If not, what will that symbolize?

A typical unthinking rant by our conservative culture critic. The movie is a product of Hollywood. It has received a number of Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Screenplay and Best Actress (Chastain won a Golden Globe). So much for the "Lefty" opposition to the movie within that medium. And interestingly enough, the producers delayed the release of the film until after the election because of conservative complaints that the dramatization of the killing of Osama would boost Obama's electoral chances. Seems that righties just like to rant... mindlessly... against all things "liberal" regardless of the facts.

Actor David Clennon, who is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, launched a campaign to stop Zero Dark Thirty from receiving any awards. Wrote Clennon:
I’m a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Motion Picture Academy clearly warns its members not to disclose their votes for Academy Awards. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that the film Zero Dark Thirty promotes the acceptance of the crime of torture, as a legitimate weapon in America’s so-called War on Terror. In that belief, following my conscience, I will not vote for Zero Dark Thirty in any category … I cannot vote for a film that makes heroes of Americans who commit the crime of torture.
Now Clennon has been joined by Martin Sheen and Ed Asner. Sheen, who has long been an ardent leftist – President Josiah Bartlet! – says he opposes any awards for Zero Dark Thirty. Asner, who declared himself an open socialist long ago – even as he rakes in cash from voice work in films like Up! – said, “I would like to condemn the movie.” According to the press, both actors want voters to “factor in matters of conscience when casting awards votes.”

Interesting. I am reading lefty, not righty rants from the academy and Ed Asner and Martin Sheen. Oddly, if there was a real democrat like Jeb Bartlett, I'd vote for him.

It wasn't a very good movie. Maybe that has something to do with it.

A mainstream docudrama getting an Academy award nomination is like making the playoffs in hockey or giving a losing team a participation award. Hard not to get one. Winning is another thing.

You and virtually all of the other conservatives here reply in exactly the same way to the insults you complain about and "real stuff, substance and all": With deluded rants, Fox News one-liners, and straight up lies about what the other person believes, thinks, or even has said on the very same thread page.
I carefully explain my position and the reasons for having it. You, newtster, tvoter, skeeter and the other worthless idiots respond with "liberals think this, liberals think that. You worship Obama. You're a taker"......
...blalh blah blah. Worthlessness.
You proved yourselves undeserving and disrespectful of "real stuff, substance" time and again.
Now you complain? Really?

And of course you have the "nerve" (not really the right word) to issue that complaint in a thread about conspiracy theories to not give a meaningless award to a documentary.
Whatever.

So, where's the "blacklist" part again...?
I've seen several glowing reviews from all areas of the media making it one of the most praised movies of the year.
Whatever one thinks of the vagaries of the oscars, it's a bit disingenuous to rail against all of hollywood as "liberal socialists" when films like "ZD30" and "Hurt Locker" get shortlisted for the top prizes. (The latter won Best Picture, btw.) They are both very much Hollywood films.
This thread is answering a question nobody asked.
Hey, I thought "Saving Private Ryan" should have won Best Pic, too, but so does most of Hollywood.
