Now I know why moonbatty and broke California paid prison psychiatrists $800,000 salaries.....
Curing violent thugs is one thing, but listening to liberals....they deserve millions.

[QUOTE]My point was that there would be some Lefties who would have a fit over this thread. And I was right. It's an over-the-top email that I posted. Obviously it shouldn't be taken serious. But ya did....just as I suspected. Thanks!

I don't see anyone throwing a fit, but however you get your jollies is up to you.

Sadly, this letter pretty much sums up the gop's tee partee minders right now, so you might as well be posting their manifesto.

God forbid we take a thread, which was posted to get hilarious responses from liberals with exploded heads, and try to salvage a discussion.

Re: Liberals heads explode in 3...2...1...

This isn’t an issue of who I agree with, but rather the role of government.  On one hand a program that creates awareness by advising kids to make better food choices is fine, our kids are fat.  But that is a far stones throw away from mandating what people can eat.  The argument the author is making is essentially “give the gruel and nothing else”

I don't think "give gruel and nothing else" is an actual quote from the letter, so who are you quoting exactly? Mandating what people consume? Are you okay with people using food stamps to buy alcohol?

What relevance does early 1900’s social thought have to do with now

More than the Hitler reference you made, since that era is essentially the foundation of modern social work. I agree the gov't should not get involved with sterilizing people, but it would help matters. Illegitimacy is a big problem in the US

How many CEO’s have been prosecuted for fraud as a result of the 2008 financial crisis?

How many CEOs actually broke a law that can be proven in court? I have no idea.

Re: Liberals heads explode in 3...2...1...

Clearly the gruel comment wasn’t in the letter, but it cuts to the core of what he is saying.  I find it odd that you would take issue with my commentary on the letter but somehow forced sterilization and government telling people what they can and cannot eat is fine?

People using food stamps to buy alcohol is not the intended or legal use of food stamps, and that is an established protocol.  That people break that rule isn’t exactly surprising, but putting people who receive benefits on a government diet to address that problem (and others)  is akin to killing a fly with nuclear bomb.  It’s over reach and absurd in its disproportion.

Single parent homes are the problem but sterilization (For the record, I can’t believe we are actually discussing this as if it were a viable solution, btw) doesn’t solve that problem. As plenty of people who aren’t on welfare have kids out of wedlock. So people have to be married to have kids?  If so, what happens if the parents get divorced? Does mom get sterilized?  All of this is a transparent attempt to blame all of societies problems on the “underclass” so if you sterilize them, put them on government jobs, feed them government approved food, and take away their rights to vote everything will be better.  Amazing how similar that sounds to indentured servitude and slavery.

According the Levin report, and the SEC filings Goldman’s CEO and several executives lied under oath about their “big short” and same is true for JP Morgan.  But it doesn’t take a round up of all of Wall Street CEOs to send the correct message that the types of risks these firms take on a daily basis, the structural harm they cause every few years or so, and the rampant casino culture of The Street won’t be tolerated. I guarantee you that if the government actually nailed one of those scumbags to the wall and sent him to federal gonna get pounded in the butt prison we’d see a remarkable change in the investment culture.  But I suppose the criminal justice system isn’t for that.

Interesting, you would like to see some wall street suit get pounded in the fanny to send a message, but you take issue with limiting what people consume with our tax dollars. As you stated, there are already limits placed upon what people can consume when using an EBT Card, so not sure what the big deal is to add twinkies and ho-hos to the list. Simply "creating awareness" is nothing but hollow rhetoric and feel good bs as far as I am concerned, but thats another matter.

I just said in my last post that gov't should not get involved in sterilization, so I don't know what your issue is. I did say that I thought highly of Norplant (which is temporary birth control), and that preventing teenagers from having babies they are unable to support would probably yield positive results.... but maybe we can just "create awareness" about it. God forbid people get married before they have kids by the way.

Right because Abstinence Only sex ed which is little more than "creating awareness" by using myths of an angry moon man who disapproves of sex even thought people have been having sex since there people have been on earth is awesome.  What's awesomer? Sterilization. And the distinction between temporary or otherwise is irrelevant.  The government has no right to dictate to anyone about matters of procreation, regardless of marital status.

As far as limits on EBT cards, that isn't what we were discussing, we were discussing the orginal claim that recipients of benefits should be forced into a government nutrition program of rice, beans, cheese and powdered milk.  In case you aren't aware those are staples of government provided foodstuffs along with powdered eggs, and some canned goods.  The only point I was making about food stamps/EBT is that there are already rules in place that govern their usage.  That there are misappropriations isn't surprising as some percentage of people will misuse anything.  That doesn't mean the folks that play by the rules should be punished because you really hate the idea of some poor kid eating a ho ho.  Jesus Christ.

I never said I hated the idea of a poor kid eating a ho-ho. People on food stamps can spend their own money on things like ho-hos, just like they can spend their own money on things like booze right?

Jesus H Christ, how many times does it take for what I said to penetrate your skull with regards to sterilization. What is with you and drawing inferences and making up phony quotes?

[QUOTE]By that kind of cowpie logic, anyone on social security, medicare or medicaid would be ineligible to vote...hence cancelling out all of those reliably voting seniors. But should we be surprised this comes from texas with its dismal rates of poverty and uninsured.  Nice to know they forget their most vulnerable citizens when the state is supposedly booming economically. So they kick them when times are tough, and kick them again when times are good.   Conservatives must be very proud of themselves.
