LOOK, YOU SECOND AMENDMENT FREAKS, GUN-RIGHTS, NRA, WINGNUTS, .....YOU ARE JUST AS DELUSIONAL AS THESE MASS KILLERS.  LOOK GUNS ARE A TOOL.  THEY ARE FOR SELF PROTECTION, SPORT, IE HUNTING, TARGET SHOOTING ETC. NOT FOR MASS KILLING...EXCEPT MAYBE ON THE BATTLEFIELD.   ANYWAY PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY SLACK-JAWED CIVILIANS WITH A RAMBO FETISH, NEED TO BE ABLE TO PURCHASE AR 15 ASSAULT RIFLES WITH UPGRADED 100 ROUND MAGAZINES?   IT'S NOT ABOUT FREEDOM....IT'S ABOUT F'N COMMON SENSE!

Having the hundred round magazine actually saved lives. The gun jammed and i think it was because of the 100 round magazine that it did jam( ever wonder why the military doesnt use them), they are notorious for jamming. It actually would have been worse if he had had 5 or 6 of the 30 round standard magazines. He would have had all the time in the world to reload cuz no one else had a gun in the " gun free zone". crazy people like the aurora shooter will acquire guns weather there legal or illegal. Why take away peoples only chance to defend themselves?

Some are.  Gasoline along with a number of other chemicals aren't.  Homemade bombs are often made with....household chemicals and other "explosives" that aren't.  Mass murder often tracks along with the homicide rate.  In the 2000's, both dropped to their lowest level since the 1960's.  Most criminologists say that mass murderers are looking for notoriety.  They use whatever will get them the most acclaim.

That the gun prevented further carnage is lost on liberals, who are unable to be rational when it comes to guns and/or self defence. What do they teach democrats? Curl up in the fetal position and wait for the police?

In Response to Re: Man with gun stops knife carnage in store! Hero? : It's true ya can't completely stop someone from committing such horrendous acts if they are determined and smart enough. What ya can do is make it more difficult with the idea that those who have a brief psychotic episode don't have an readily available means to carry out their crazy schemes. More innocent people are killed by guns in a few months than have been killed by homemade expolosives in the last decade.

Of course you want to do whatever you can to prevent a psycho from getting his notoriety.  However, it's not possible all the time.  Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country and their murder rate is off the charts. MA laws are conflicting and confusing and need to be clarified without enabling the crazies.

The only thing more gun laws will do is to further limit the legal ownership of guns amongst law abiding citizens, which is not the problem.  If anything , gun laws for law abiding citizens needs to be loosened, as it is nearly impossible to get a concealed carry permit in this state.  many gun laws are in effect, limiting the lawful exercise of people's 2nd amendment rights, with no discernible advantage towards the prevention of crime.

Gun laws have never been much of a deterrent to the illegal possession of guns, or the crimes committed with these guns.

Well, there is that scene in True Lies, when Curtis drops the Mac 11 down the stairs. But, in real life? No
