His creative use of the English language.

It has lightened up more than one long, hard commute.

Increased congestion by allowing bike lanes in old roads not really suited for them?

Agreed, the warm fuzzy answer was really the wrong one.

He knows enough to keep the City of Boston attractive and to listen to the needs of the businesses that are located in Town.

I do like much of what's gone up in what used to be a pile of refuse along Atlantic Ave/Surface Road - adding grass, fountains, bushes, etc.

Boston was always quite picturesque when surveyed from the various bridges between it and Cambridge, particularly at sunset/night. But walking through downtown always felt a bit grubby. Not enough plant life.

Those improvements nice as they are, had nothing to do with the Mayor; part of the Big Dig surface restoration.

Anyone in Boston is really happy with their trash collection.  The residents claim no matter what they put on the curb, it gets collected.

That's some claim to fame for 20 years as mayor.

Yeah, even those heavy lumpy trash bags that Whitey Bulger left at the curb, ended up at the landfill..
